What's best for hired drivers to earn more money?
Having them do their work only giving them a truck, or assigning them a trailer, too?:steamfacepalm:

I have them assigned to a truck then just have trailers assigned to the shop so they can use them or not. Then I get them to level up with high value charge and long distance. I think that’s probably the quickest to get them earning the most amount of money.

Make sure you give them a truck that can pull any load big or small so they have more job options

Trucke they need - trailer they dont need.
If giving them a trailer they might struggle to find work that suits the trailer so I wouldnt give them access to use trailers.
In my humble opinion the ownable trailers are more for the player to get an enhanced roleplay feeling of the game. Personally I bought a trailer once, didnt like the outcome, so I dont use them at all.

When you assign trucks, make sure they are default SCS trucks with no mods. Otherwise when updates happen, they could break your driver's trucks and cause you to come here and complain that your game isn't working properly.

Give them a truck, put them on balanced and let them go.

What margalus said, don't try to micro manage them it's a waste of time.

I'm far too controlling for that. I have to micro manage each one. Then again I've never played long enough on a single save to get to the point where it became a real hassle. For RP purposes if you are truly building your company then you will want to buy your own trailer fleet for them. Otherwise it's fine to just let them be and find the jobs on their own. You've got to remember any extra amount of money per load they bring in with an owned trailer is first going to go to cost of that trailer so while you might make more money in the long run, the recoup time to get there is a factor in how much your drivers are bringing in per load.

Thank you for advices, no mod trucks is a good one, too. I thought, a hired driver not finding a job would be solved by giving them a trailer...

Them not finding jobs isn't a problem at all, don't sweat it.

Well see the reason why they sometimes can't find jobs is because the ai is programmed to Take load from A to B. Return load is always then from B back to A. So sometimes no matter what, there just won't be a return load for them because they can't take a load elsewhere so they must deadhead back.

Yeah, right, sometimes I even can not find a job from a location that I last submitted my load.

Relocate them with yourself when they are on a job

I bought every type of trailer available for each garage I own then i just let them use whichever one that they need they will get them automatically if they have a job for one of them dont worry about how much they cost you will get your money back eventually and after a while money is not an issue you will make more than enough

Here's what I learned from a good bit of forum research and regular gameplay:

If you're min-maxing to build cash then all they need is a truck. Trailers don't matter and are just extra expense. The spec of the truck doesn't matter and does not affect the loads they can take (e.g. small engine doesn't stop them from pulling heavy loads etc). Therefore, buy them the cheapest SCS truck you can spec (good tip above about not using modded trucks for your drivers). Their training does matter both in terms of the loads they can take and the money earned so work on ADR and long distance first to broaden their load choices, then get the first two points in everything else except fuel economy, then set them free on balanced. When hiring, avoid drivers with points in fuel economy if possible. Pay off your loans asap and then buy garages and trucks as soon as the money becomes available. Pretty soon you will have so many drivers that the micro managing becomes a chore and you're just hiring the first guy/gal in the list and leaving them on balanced from the get-go.
