How to update old truck mods to 1.31 on my own? (solved)
Hi, there are a few truck mods of mine I like that can't be bought after 1.31 due to the truck/dealership change.

How do I manually change the truck's files for it to appear in the dealerships again?

as well as deleting unused sii file in truck_dealer called: peterbilt.9900.

thats all i did.... & the equivalent to numerous mods to get them working.

Some mods will not work in the latest version. I suggest you go through your mod list and only keep those that have been updated.

For vehicles, you can manually update them so they will work. It's a dealer change in the Def folder and here's a video on how. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6qjOLQFmfM

Aside from that, no clue why steam is doing this. I have something similar where mods activated will suddenly vanish and I only have about 25 mods downloaded.
Hopefully JDaremo does mind my reposting this from the thread "Game Not Working", currently a few threads down.

No worries, I was about to post the same vid link. Good Job

Thanks for the responses. I'm trying to make a favorite mod of mine, the International 9900 appear in the dealer and I tried the edits the videos suggest but the 9900 still won't appear. :\

which version are you trying to fix, the one from 2016 or the one for v1.29
JDaremo Fireheart Jun 17, 2018 @ 8:51pm
My mistake, the one for v1.29 is the 9400i Eagle.

You won't be able to do a simple edit to get the 2016 version working. there have been too many changes since then.

I did find a page with a few different internation trucks. not cur if you can convert the v1.29 one but there is a v1.30 on this page you can try.

This is the truck, and it's a 9900, not a 9400: http://www.modsats.com/international-9900i-v1-4-truck/

Yea I know the 9400 your talking about, the really really old one that was made back in ATS v1.0.0.4. That was my first truck in ATS, but I didn't use it for long since the truck was pretty broken (no lights, wipers, proper truck sounds, etc.).

yeah, it will still take much more than a simple edit of the def files to bring this one back into the game. that one is the old version system 1.4 from 18m ago. a lot has changed in that time.

try asking here for help updating and converting.

Many changes were done to the game engine. SCS has changed the PMG model format a bit over the years as they deprecate older things (so I imagine eventually the game will no longer read them, making very old mods obsolete) while they put in newer technology into the engine. I believe 1.31 did change the models slightly if I recall? I can't remember specifics, but if it wasn't 1.31, it was a fairly recent version that did do another tweak I'm aware of.

Yea but the 9900 I'm trying to work out still works just fine in ATS. I already bought one in my fleet before 1.31 and was about to buy another one when 1.31 came out (I'm an International fanboy). Nothing is wrong with the truck in 1.31, it just simply won't show up in the dealership. I've also tried this dealership fix on a 1.29 Freightliner Century and it won't re-appear in the dealerships either. I don't mind if either trucks have capables, I just want them to re-appear in the dealership.

You must have gotten something wrong with your edits then, i just downloaded this truck(9900) from your link, edited the dealer file, put it in mod folder & checked it on my test profile.

The truck was in the Peterbilt dealer as well as in the "about" truck viewer...... tons of errors but it was there.

When I tried editing the 9900, I added the siiNunit line at the top as the videos suggested, and then I added the bracket at the bottom. Oh, and the 9900 without the 1.31 dealer fix edits still showed up in the About > Truck Browser, it just wouldn't show up in the Peterbilt dealership.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

That did it, thanks man for the help! Either my S in SiiNunit wasn't capitalized or I left a space between the brackets, but it works now, as well as my other trucks that didn't work before. Thanks!

For future reference: capitalisation is for visual style (ie human readability) only, the parser doesn't care.
