Jake brake at all time??
Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to keep the jake brake on at all times. It annoys me that when I press the gas pedal, that the jake brake automatically stops. I couldn't find a way to keep it engaged.

is there a way to keep it on at all times, in the config or in a save file to alter something?? I would like to know.
thanks for answering

That's how it works irl. It's for slowing down

The purpose of the Jake Brake is to slow you down, you can assign a button or a key to keep the Jake's turned on, but they disengage when you step on the accelerator because it's hard coded into the game.

Set it to automatic Jake and it should shut off when you step on the throttle and then come on again the next time you take your foot off the throttle.

I am not a truck driver IRL so asking why would you want the jake brake on when you give the engine gas?

That is interesting but did not explain why you would give the engine gas while using the jake brake.

Obviously he just likes the sound of the jake brake.

Saw a video on YT some days ago. The game works like the real thing and as soon as you hit the accelerator, the Jake goes inactive. Truck is a 379 Pete, predecessor of the ingame 389.

^^^^ this
I think turning on Cruise Control shuts off the Jake, and it must be turned back on when you drop out of CC. Otherwise, it can be on all the time.

If CC on and automatic jake brake, it will stay active and only get into action when you exceed your speed tolerance. No idea if not in automatic mode though. And no idea how this setup works on the real thing either.

The Jake brake is the engine brake to have it on all the time would result in no engine power currently there is no way to have it on permanently thank heavens.
