Is there a way for the AI to have a small percentage of drivers to break the law? Also have police chases on the highway and such?

yeah but what if it was an option to turn it on an off with another option for the time interval at when they appear?
@fender178
i said "is there a way" not add the feature in.

This is probably the game where the fans are most resistant for new ideas for it that I have found. I get it with some of them. Like ideas that would turn it into My Summer Car, but adding a couple of things to the game to give you a little more to do and see I'm more open too, especially if it's an option you can turn off and on. So I don't think the game needs to be super realistic, no. But somebody out there would do, this isn't the game for that so maybe one day someone will make that game.

In regards to AI police chases, I understand why games don't often do it...it's why GTA hardly ever does it and that game is all about crime and police. Because jank. As mentioned earlier by fender178 the AI would have a hard time, can't even change lanes properly half the time.

Although seeing it happen as a super rare event would be nice I think, if the jank can be gotten past.

The AI are already breaking the law, for example stopping on a highway (exit) for no reason.

Police chases, like you see on tv, no please, but to see the occasional emergemcy vehicle in a hurry would be nice, though the way SCS implements these things you'll see one every 5 minutes, that would be annoying.

They used to do this in some of their Hard Truck games, although it was mostly ambulances. If it didn't happen so frequently then yeah this would be nice to see again, but they can always give it a slider.

why?

Because they don't seem to want them too. It would be nice. They don't exist as physical vehicles on the road, so all we get are menu based images...which only show up wen you pause the game, so you can't follow them along on the map. But having a non paused map screen so you can see them moving about would be nice, and if they did break the law, seeing that happen with their icons and a message about it if they get away or not.

If they existed on the roads that would be neat, but they'd have to be selective about it since you can hire so many employees the map would be covered in them so only showing you some of them rather than all of them would be the way to go. And of course drivers near you are the only ones that spawn, far away ones stay as just map icons. The game would need a bit of a rework but it's not like games haven't done that before. But I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

But, we don't get chased by the police anymore like in their old games, I don't think they would bother with the AI doing it.
ahh ok i get it now. thanks
not really all they would have to do is add that new feature and you can adjust it like the rain, and detours settings

It never ceases to amaze me that there are people out there that still want to take relaxing games like ATS and ETS2 and turn them into knock-offs of the GTA franchise... smh.

If you want law-breaking and police chase mayhem, there are already games out there that do all of those things and more. Please, stop the insanity and just play them. You will get all of the police chases, speeding and mayhem that you can handle, with almost every vehicle imaginable with them, and the best part?
You won't have to wait for SCS to do it. It's already been done by Rockstar Games.
yeah but police chases for the AI for immersion
actually leave out the police chasing part and maybe just have some AI be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like people are in real life. Then it should be interesting

Where the hell do you live where police chases are so common that not seeing them in-game is immersion-breaking for you? In my four decades I have seen one: along I-90 between Buffalo and Erie.

Adding first responders in traffic (ambulance and fire vehicles at a higher rate of speed) would be far more immersive, but even then, it would require a large amount of work to implement and it’s clearly not a priority for SCS.
that's why i said

Fair enough

Also, you don’t watch Traffic Cops? Some of those guys are amazing drivers handling those pursuits.
i'll try to watch some of them videos tonight.

They are not common in most of the US either. They are very interesting to broadcast though, so they get a lot of attention when they happen. Makes it seem like there is a disproportionate amount of high speed, multi-cop chases.
