When they get completed. The only way you can do so now is with a mod called Coast to Coast which is available on the SCS Forums.

Pay attention to the first post. All map DLCs are required. The only exception is not having Wyoming.

And the Carolinas meanwhile are pretty nice. It started as a map for making distance with plain copy and "channel roads". So for midwest and north there is still just a road with a slope either side and appropriate vegetation. Not much to see. But the area between FL, LA, AR, and VA was since then detailed a lot. Just don't get fooled by KS, OK, TX. Someone just built a huge road network and the cities and then obviously stopped modding. There is nothing. And I don't mean the flat landscape you find there anyways, I mean nothing. One strip of flat field or desert left and right. Sometimes you can even see the infinity. Can't wait until official Texas adequately closes the gap between SCS states and C2C southeast.

It is heartening that SCS have picked up the pace regarding State DLC production.
Initially it was a snail's pace on the face of things.. then there was the enormous re-scale affair. I reckon if they put a hold on reworking of existing states, they'd get to the east coast quicker with the same quality of work as present. SCS maps are always the best imho.

Not really. They stated some time ago they use the rework to guide new staff into mapping. That's probably easier because they have something to work on but need to use all techniques already. See it as a kind of apprenticeship.
And nothing would be faster, because mappers would be slower in progress by learning on the "main job". Now experienced mappers are working for themselves on the new DLC. The newbies rebuild California. So if they need some more time, a California enhancement gets delayed. So what - California is there, just not up to the quality levels we expect since Oregon came out. And if the new mapper is experienced enough, he will join the DLC teams. If the newbies take longer on learning how to do proper mapping while learning the job on Texas, the DLC even gets delayed.

Plus we get California, and probably Nevada and Arizona afterwards, lifted to the levels we are used since roughly the New Mexico (ATS) and Italy (ETS2) DLC.

And finally, just have a look at a map. We already have, after roughly 5 years (rescale June 2016 to last DLC Wyoming September 2021) nearly one third of the lower 48 surface area covered. TX and MT as two of the largest states areawise will be a huge increase. 2023 will probably see us reaching 50% of the area. I really appreciate how SCS still supports these "old" games. Other publishers would probably have released ETS3 and ATS2 meanwile and - adequately for today - told us "April fools - just buy all the states new, you already have for the old version..."

This so much. I do not think SCS gets enough praise for supporting and even upgrading their games continuously for free. new Trucks and trailers are free, because SCS deemed them the core part of the game. New Maps are high quality and not too expensive for what you can get out of them. Old maps are continuously reworked and improved, for Free. Maybe not the best overall developer I have played a game from, but they are up there. Also my favorite by far, because of how they treat their games. Its refreshing to see today.
