I want ownable trailers for Hazmat classes 1-8
I would like them to pay well. Lowboys make all the money. They make more than trailers costing me 100k. Have a fully leveled character in hazmat. whats the point though. can't find any mods for it. Just sick of always hauling a lowboy. I don't know anything about trucking but game progression wise this is really frustrating and not ideal. Here, buy a cool 100k trailer that you couldn't unlock until late levels it makes less money but you can buy it now, oh boy! And here, spend all kinds of points on having special certification in hazmat hauling.... so... you can make less money and not even own a trailer to get cargo market price. From a game progression stand point it makes little sense, not sure how this is in the real world, but if this is how it is, not sure why people would bother with anything other than Lowboys except to always have more options for work available, which I've never had a problem finding work in the game. Anyway is there a mod with ownable hazmat trailers that have cargo market jobs that on average pay more than lowboy jobs so I can feel like I didn't just waist a bunch of points and so an early unlocked and cheap lowboy trailer doesnt feel like the tip of the iceberg for me?

What exactly is "game progression"?
Don't you just drive a truck to enjoy the journeys and the scenery? There is no goal or final achievement to aim for. Take any load you like, go anywhere you fancy, drive your truck of choice. Do World of Trucks jobs, quick drives or anything else, it is what the game is about. Making money becomes meaningless after you have a few garages and drivers working non-stop making you money, you make more money than you can ever spend, it gives you the freedom to do what you want, buy all the trucks, trailers and garages available.

If you can make a positive proposal for SCS to implement, try here:

You don't know what game progression is?
The Old Bear 29. des. 2021 kl. 17.12
Do you know what the word progression means? Do you know what the word game means? You have never in your life heard the terms game progression or character progression? Well, it is how the game progresses you through different stages. Unlocking greater rewards the farther you grind. Similar to the way your character progresses their skills. A game will progress in many different ways. These to things tend to be tied to each other in most cases.

Anyway, looking for a mod, not trying to change the world. Just a little irritated with this aspect of the game. Just like a lot of people were irritated and confused with which transmissions get unlocked later.

Trailer ownership isn't part of the game progression because this wasn't part of the game until fairly recently. Mostly, owning trailers is to allow you to modify the aesthetics of them for your personal pleasure, not to advance the game in any way. In fact, there is no appreciable advantage to owning trailers vs not owning them in the game. The opposite is true, IMO, because you can't see all the available cargo for ownable trailers, just what's available for the trailer you are currently using. Conversely, you can see EVERY available job across the map for non-owned trailers at any given moment.

edit: Forgot to mention, that SCS has been adding more and more trailer types for purchase by the player. They just haven't yet got around to those that would haul ADR loads.

yes it is. plain and simple it is. You don't unlock all of them right away and they cost money.
mojo_musica 29. des. 2021 kl. 17.23
What do you mean when you use that phrase?
It is a a truck driving game, so there is no final objective, it never ends.
"Progression" if there is any, occupies a relatively short period when you start a new profile and earn enough money for an owned truck, a garage and employ some drivers. After a tipping point, the money rolls in. There are no "goals" "objectives" "achievements" or final boss to defeat. Just driving your favourite truck in your favourite scenery and listening to your favourite music. What could be better? You can play it any way you want, if you want to concentrate on earnings, and role play, carry on, we all take something different from the game to enjoy it.
Again, if you want SCS to know your thoughts, go to the dedicated site and tell them there.
As far as I know, no mods are available for what you seem to want, have you done a thorough search of the Workshop for anything that might fit the bill? You do realise that mods can be a source of trouble and errors in ATS, and are not supported at all by SCS, if you use them, they are entirely your responsibility.

Really I,ll have to check the freight market again and look at there descriptions in game. because last I checked cargo market pays better.
The Old Bear 29. des. 2021 kl. 17.25
If I remember right the info in the game even says you get payed better if you own the trailer used.
The Old Bear 29. des. 2021 kl. 17.27
Mojo, I'm not going to explain it twice.

Perhaps, but I wonder how it compares when you factor in trailer maintenance. I've never wanted to buy trailers due to the limits on seeing the available cargoes, as I mentioned before, but also as mentioned by Mojo, money becomes fairly meaningless after a point. Once you've got everything unlocked for your truck, why bother fretting over a few extra dollars on a load? ;)

You still haven't. You seem to think this is like a first person shooter or role-playing game.
It isn't.
There is no "grinding", if you never buy a truck, a trailer, a garage or employ a driver, you will still get to play as a truck driver and go everywhere, taking any cargo you choose. There is no "progression" for playing that way.
You make the game play as you want to play it, it isn't a formulaic hand-holding slog to an end result.
I seriously doubt many players, if any, regard any of it as progressing through levels, I don't see many posts on here describing it in those terms.
Ryu 29. des. 2021 kl. 17.41
Also, not saying your desires are invalid! I'm all for having for content and variety in the game. It just strikes me as odd when players make a big deal about earning money in the game. It's more about the driving than anything else. :steamhappy:
The Old Bear 29. des. 2021 kl. 17.43
Because, it doesn't feel right lol. Feels like I'm not getting properly compensated for my work, skill and assets that were harder to obtain. It's irritating. Besides all that I just want some trailers for the hazmat hauling. Why is this a hard concept to grasp?
The Old Bear 29. des. 2021 kl. 17.44
There is no grinding mojo? You don't gain skills and assets over time. Stop it dude.
