1. You have enabled the Speed Limiter in the gameplay settings.
2. You are hauling External Contracts or External Cargo (WOT Online Jobs)
3. Human error/setup mistakes
This is assuming that the game is functioning properly, which includes no mods, and assuming that Steam properly downloaded the recent update, which it has been failing at somewhat.
To make sure, try right clicking ATS in your Steam Library, go to Properties, Local Files, and Verify Integrity of Game Files. Then start a new profile, with no mods enabled. Once loaded into the fresh profile, make sure the speed limiter is disabled in settings, and make sure you are taking a Quick Job or Freight Market job. If the problem is still happening, then it is either a mistake by you or your controller.
ATS speed limiter is 65mph
ETS2 speed limiter is 90km/h
Both games enforce the speed limiter during External Contract jobs (ie World of Trucks), regardless of the menu setting. Convoys I believe are handled slightly differently
Fine.
Well, 65 mph is not that bad of a speed limit really. I can deal with speed limit 65. Shorter trips are less noticeable, and if you do jobs in Ca, Or, and Wa, where speeds for trucks are lower anyway, then so what? Some of the secondary roads are harder to do more than 65 mph anyway due to the number of sharper curves more often.
The fact is, it is not a bug, it is a restriction, and THAT, I can deal with. I guess, if you still have issue with the speed limit, don't play the game, or make a mod that will allow you to overcome the restriction, or don't do WoT contracts.
