A Question about the Special Transport DLC

Howdy Truckers,

I'm missing the helicopter and the boat from completing all of the Special Transport DLC deliveries, but they never appear on my jobs selection menu. Could it be because I don't own my own truck? That would be weird, as the rest of the deliveries were available.

The High Cargo DLC have a boat and a helicopter,
the Special Transport DLC only has a boat (not the same one)

There is both a helicopter and a boat for Special Transport. There is no such thing as High Cargo DLC for ATS.

Wyoming was released earlier this year.

Special Transport can be a little finicky. Some loads appear, probably not though, as more rare than others. I did have trouble getting the service boat too.

As you don't have your own truck sleeping would need to be done during another quick job. I would look at the in game e-mail to see what cities Special Transport loads are generated from. Get those cities discovered and keep searching.

Thanks a bunch, I'll try to get my own truck and just sleep again and again until I find it. And I can't believe I missed out Wyoming coming out, and Texas is announced too?! How exciting!

Another spot you could check for the boat is Portland. It'll pop up from there to Newport every now and then.

I have DLC Special Tranports, but I can't find the pilot boat or the helicopter. I cannot finish my achievements if I am missing these two special transports.

They are pretty rare to appear. Best chances are looking for them in the quick jobs.

How rare depends on which DLC you own but with everything currently available you have the following possibilities:

Offer unit #72 [spec_offer.ovesize_14b] is Transport Helicopter from Farmington to Raton (New Mexico)
Offer unit #99 [spec_offer.ovesize_19g] is Transport Helicopter from Portland to Newport (Oregon)
Offer unit #148 [spec_offer.ovesize_33] is Transport Helicopter from Riverton to Jackson (Wyoming)
Offer unit #181 [spec_offer.ovesize_43b] is Transport Helicopter from Thompson Falls to Kalispell (Montana)

Offer unit #93 [spec_offer.ovesize_19] is Service Boat from Portland to Newport (Oregon)

Interesting, now that I've created that it looks like SCS have messed this achievement up for folks with only the base game, or indeed without Oregon. Both the helicopter and the boat used to be available from San Francisco but following the rework at v1.44 they are not.

If I understand this correctly then this means that you won't find the contract in the base game at all. You need the New Mexico, Oregon, Wyoming or Montana DLC for the helicopter cargo in the special transport.

Apologies for not replying sooner, but I've been away on holiday for the past week. What you do with that data is check the Freight Market (or Quick Jobs) for the first city listed (after the word 'from') and you should see Special Transport jobs to the second city listed (after the word 'to'). Depending on the random number generator one of those jobs might be the cargo you are trying to find.

As stated, and this is still true with v1.46.2.0, if you don't have Oregon then it is impossible to complete this achievement. I didn't report this at the time as I was rushing to complete the Halloween event before heading off to Lanzarote but I may do so should the mood take me (many of my more esoteric bug reports go unacknowledged so the incentive for doing so is slim)
