Look to your computer's power saving/sleep settings?

Are you using a controller? Check to see if it’s set to allow it to wake the PC, that should also mean any inputs on it prevent it from going to sleep.

There are lots of discussions and solutions if you Google “Xbox controller wake PC”, post #7 in the link below might explain what you need to change:

Is your laptop getting very hot? If that is the case then it might do this due to overheating and it is trying to cool off.

Maybe it's just a lazy laptop. I have to keep shaking mine to stay awake.
Plug-in your laptop is recommended for gaming. Set the Power Options to High Performance mode. Also option "Put the computer to Sleep" select "Never"

If using Windows go to Power Options in the Control Panel click on Change Plan Settings for the performance setting that is chosen then click on Change advanced power settings. Check the various settings in the advanced power settings, especially the sleep and hibernate settings under Sleep.

If you mean like hick up moving then its your physical ram is filled up
and switches to virtual ram witch is slower and you will notice it.

I have a win 10 64 bit hp note book hd
4 gb ram 2.17 ghhrz dual core cpu
resolution 800 x 600 to 1300 x 756.
I choose resolution 1300 x 756
.............................................................................
but in game it hick ups so In game setting quality choice choose low means less hick ups.

if using controller be sure it's one that is compatible with game.
Dead zone and sensitivity might need to be set.
try each one. There is no way for others to tell you the best settings
goes by your comfort level
