Save Game Location
I've been trying to find the folder where ATS puts all of my saves so I can backup my progress... I've tried looking it up online and all the results I have found say the saves should be in the Documents > American Truck Simulator > profiles folder. The problem is, that folder is completely empty for me even if I check the box to show hidden files. I looked in the steam_profiles folder that is in that same ATS Documents folder as well, but all that has in it are settings. When I'm in the game my profile and all of my autosaves and main save are still there, so they're not lost... but where in the world are they actually saved??

The reason I want to find them is because I have had bad luck losing game progress in past games from either corruption or my own mistakes. I just feel much better being able to backup the saves for the games I put a lot of hours into.

Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to answer this!

I, myself, have no such location named as C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\<numbers>\270880\remote\profiles\<profileid>

Your save game files are located in C:\Users\ your user name \Documents\American Truck Simulator

This location is if you use the dreaded Steam Cloud option. <numbers> refers to a profile number that is unique to your computer/game.

I don't use Steam Cloud for any of my Steam supported games because of the problems it has caused in the past. I use off-line mode when at my camper with poor internet connection in the woods. Steam Cloud will overwrite save game data from off-line mode when I connect at home so I loose any progress made while at my camper.

That said, I do have that <numbers> folder, it contains sub-folders named <numbers>, config, inventorymsgcache, ugc and ugcmsgcache. There are 6 sub-folders which have a 6 digit number. The six <numbers> sub-folders only contain a single, less than 100kb, file named remotecache.vdf
