Team driving cross country
In todays trucking world there are a lot of couples working as a team. I would like to see the ability to switch drivers at rest stops so you could ride along and really enjoy the scenery from every angle. We already have AI traffic and the passenger mode works well in Train Sim World…..what say you???

Two different games. Meaning just because there is a thing in one game doesn't mean that it will work for this game.

This has been suggested before… including in the last three hours:

This game doesn’t need the ability to play itself IMHO, it’s not difficult to make progress at all. Only a tiny fraction of a percentage of players are going to want to sit and watch virtual scenery roll past.

Again {as in the other post} a driving simulation game where you dont drive. i dont get it. seriously i dont.

It's actually a compliment to the game, the graphics are good, we spend all our time watching the road ... we dont get to see the it all on a grand scale. Having driven across the USA IRL numerous times, sometimes I just wanna be the passenger and take in the sights and not be focused on the road and only catch brief moments. (Hard to move the outside camera around to take it all in and REMAIN in your lane at the same time) but again, its a compliment to the DEVS we wanna see their work :-)

Have you tried pulling over? Truck stop. Rest area. Shoulder of the road. on/off ramps.

Also there is a camera mod on the workshop that zooms out further which allows you to see much more of the scenery.

If I tandem-drove with my wife, I'd steer off a bridge just to push her buttons. Well, if you could drive off a bridge, which you shouldn't. Or maybe I'd drive the wrong way just to see how long it would take for her to notice.

Cop pulls me over to tell me my wife fell out of the car 5 miles back. I said "thank god for that. I thought I'd gone deaf."

I'm at the Talladega raceway with my wife, and they are offering NASCAR tours of the track. I ask the guy how much it costs for him to take us on a speed lap. He says a hundred bucks. I say that's kind of expensive for just one lap. He says, well, okay, he'll take us both around for free, but we have to be absolutely silent and say nothing and he will give us the fastest, craziest lap ever made on Talladega.

So we agree, and sure enough the driver just goes nuts. He's going so fast it's like hyperspace out of Star Wars. More than that, he's trick driving the car, too! We're on two wheels, and a wheelie, and even a flip, and then he gives us a bonus lap. That one's even crazier, we go so fast the paint is peeling off. There's a bootlegger and a leap through a ring of flames. There's also a pit of live tigers we jump over. It was a thrilling ride!

The driver stops, and he turns to me in the front seat and says, "That was the craziest lap I've ever driven, and neither you nor your wife said a peep. You have nerves of steel. What did you think of my driving?"

I tell him, "Well, it was certainly what I imagined it would be like, but when my wife fell out of the car back there I didn't want to say anything, because, you know, a hundred bucks is a hundred bucks..."

Not quite the same thing, but if you do remote play with someone, you both are controlling the same truck. Presumably if you arranged it well, you could take turns driving.

You would have to turn off sleep requirement to keep driving

I think the feature you're looking for is called twitch.tv where I believe you can watch others playing the game to your heart's content. Me, I'll stick to driving a truck in the games I own about truck driving. I will also hope that SCS do not waste time on developing a virtual co-driver when there are other features that would be more welcome (changing seasons, say).

Twitch.TV is NOT the feature we're looking for. Not unless I have control of the camera while watching.

But you are asking for a different game, this one is about driving, not about touring. A waste of developer resources to go down that path.

Have you considered buying a long distance bus ticket IRL and going for a ride? Plenty of hours watching scenery roll by as you ride MegaBus/Greyhound/whatever somewhere and you have full control of your head.

Right ... SMH
If this is the level we're reaching ... I'm done
