When taking a corner or bend, the rotation of the drum makes the cement on the outside of the curve 'climb' the barrel, making the truck 'lean out' if you are 'too hot' into the corner. All trucks have body roll to some extent, but concrete mixers are hell to drive.

Why would you want to drive one. They look silly with out the drum turning. If the drum doesn't turn the cement will harden and they can not pour it. If the cement dries inside the drum, the you will have to climb inside with a hammer and beat it loose. Not fun...
Sounds like the voice of experience, lol.

Yeah that's always bugged me about them.

SCS should animate the drum so that it revolves :steamhappy:

Even when there's no water in there, they still turn the agitator to mix the aggregate, so I've been told.

they do
I personally would like SCS to remove them until they actually function. Nothing stranger than seeing a cement mixer with no rotating drum.

Some folks claim a controversy surrounding the cement mixers in the beginning was that even though at the time SCS had no public agreement with Mack, the cement mixer truck was a Mack.
