I don't know if thats what you mean here, but if thats it i hope it helped you to get the problem.
I think OP is referring to the green box that shows up when you arrive at your destination to let you choose how/where to park, not the xp you get for parking.
Anyway, thanks again!
-or-
Hiding game elements was recently added. Navigate to Documents/American Truck Simulator/profiles/"your alpanumeric profile name" Open config.cfg file. Please note that is not the main config file in the Documents/ATS folder.
uset g_show_game_elements "0" <--- change the 0 to a 1 and save.
Also, when I click Reset Navigation in the map, it just clears my route entirely and I have to set a destination before the button even shows up. I'm gonna have to just abandon this one and call it a bug. Oh well.
Thanks all!
EDIT: When I abandon the job, the green floaty icon showed up to offer me more jobs. Definitely a bug that cost me $12k fake money lol
As it sounds as though OP has checked previous suggestions, I have had a load do that to me before when I had to tow the truck to service (damn AI vehicles changing lanes just before or while I'm passing them). The game is usually set to autosave every 4 mins by default, so my only suggestion if this happens again is to restore the last autosave before the game forgot about your drop-off.
As a former professional trucker, I do think this game has a few minor bugs in it, and could use a little more realism in some aspects (the Route advisor and its positioning are garbage), but it doesn't seem to suffer from near the bumper crop of problems that have surfaced with BeamNG lately.
The path you should goto is: Documents\American Truck Simulator\profiles\xxxxxxxx
Anyways..
Look in side the profiles folder and you'll see another folder/s with "number and letters" as it's name. Go into that folder and open "config.cfg" and on line 10, you'll find the:
uset g_show_game_elements "0"
Do what 'AyMazing' said and change the "0" to a "1" so that it looks like what is below:
uset g_show_game_elements "1"
Now save it and restart ATS/ETS2.
Another thing you can do if you run into that problem again is..
while in the truck > bring up the GPS and zoom right in, no slowly creep forward with the truck and drive over the icon in the GPS, all the while repeatedly pressing enter until the invisible zone activates.
I have my game elements hidden by default and drive HC Doubles only and I don't really ever find a problem with jobs, deliveries, finding fuel, services etc. Just more of a challenge that way.
You should try the Heavy Cargo Doubles at some point though. That's all I haul in ATS.
fyi..
If you happen to press Esc to menu and save the game after choosing your delivery point at the gate, then exit ATS/ETS2 before completing the delivery.
Once you restart the game and your "save game" loads..
You'll need to go back to the gate and choose your delivery point again, even if you're trailer is sitting perfectly aligned in the bay ready to deliver from the last time you played.
I searched the config - the line definitely was not there. I run Linux, so probably a difference from Windows.
I actually tried to precisely reposition myself around the icon (I'm assuming you mean the red flag, as that was the only icon besides the destination company's logo on the map). I just never could figure out where it was "supposed" to be until I abandon the job and it appeared as a means to pick up new jobs from them.

anomaly.va,
I didn't even notice the game had a manual load/save feature...Hadn't needed it before.
Also, I have to pay my respects to your trucking career. The first thing I ever wanted to be when I grew up was a driver, but I ended up in the IT field. After playing this game for a few days (and loving it), I do not have any regrets... I've always had mad respect for truckers but it went up 1000 fold after playing this game for a while & trying to not suck lol
Thank you for your service, long or short, I'm glad I stuck with IT, but I still enjoy the challenge of this game :D
My apologies if this feels like I'm insulting your intelligence, but since you say this is your first job with your own trailer are you aware that the mechanics of both collection and delivery are different with your own trailer (as they have to be)? Did you see the loading screen animation when you collected your cargo? If not, then you may have got the mechanics wrong and driving around with an empty trailer. At this point I have to admit that it is so long since I last did a job with an owned trailer that I no longer recall the exact sequence but you have to do something like reverse into the parking spot (as you would normally do when delivering), turn off the engine and then hit Enter (or whatever you have bound to Activate) to trigger the cargo load.
As per previous posts, if it's not there you have the wrong config file open. You need the one in the individual profile directory, not the one in the base game directory.
This in untrue. You are able to stop at the green checkered flag and choose your drop off with your own trailer.
Some people however have edited their config file to only have the hard spot chosen so they don't need to stop at the entrance.
