Peterbilt sky blue color code?
Does anyone know what color code would be used in the custom color configuration that is the same as the Peterbilt sky blue? I'm looking to paint other truck dealers the same color as my first truck, a sky blue Peterbilt. Thanks in advance.

I think you might have to wing it. Maybe you could take a photo of your Peterbilt then use it as reference when you have your other truck in the shop. If you use the metallic paint option, the right most of the colour choices at the top is the flake. Make it the same colour as your paint job and it won't be so noticeable. If you find the colour you like, save it by using the down arrow symbol beside the paint brush symbol in the paint shop. It will remain available for any truck you bring in for paint.

Alternatively, you could use the custom paint on the Peterbilt to match the color (or at least get as close as possible), then save the color and apply it to the other truck.

Try this in the custom color section... (you can click on the values and type them in manually after clearing them)

H -- 229
S -- 58
V -- 48

Not quite an exact match, but pretty much as close as I can get for now just eyeballing it. I can't tell much, if any difference copy-pasting sections between screenshots of that and the actual color in the game.

Exact color does seems to have a slight bit more shine to it on the fenders. Not sure if that is a Hue, Saturation or Value thing, but those values will get you in the neighborhood.

As you'll see, it's REALLY close. The shade is possibly a bit darker -- Value = Brightness, or so I'm told, and higher brightness = lighter color, so perhaps you might try playing with V in the 50-70 range?

from the def .sii file: "base_color: (0.030, 0.050, 0.22)"

Which translates to:
RGB: 48, 63, 129
HSV: 228, 62, 50 (anomaly.va is really close :-)
HEX: 303F81

If in the future you want to know the colours of a locked paint job you may want to extract the .scs files of the truck dlc you can find in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\American Truck Simulator
using the .scs extractor which you can find here:
https://modding.scssoft.com/wiki/Documentation/Tools/Game_Archive_Extractor

You can find the .sii and .sui files for truck paint jobs in this folder:
def\vehicle\truck\brand.model\paint_job

Just got home from work so too tired to tell you how to make a mod for it that you can then use to figure out the RGB/HSV/HEX codes.

I really wish I'd known about this one LOL... I did this the hard way and bought two 389s in-game, one the factory color, the other to try to match to it, so OP owes me for two 389s. Just kidding LOL. I am a former trucker, so I leveled up to 50 quite quickly in this game, with about $45M in-game, so it was just a few hours trying to get in the ballpark. Surprised I got that close though, my color vision isn't quite perfect, but apparently it's better than I thought. :)

How is this translation done? Is it a mathematical formula to get the HSV numbers? Or is it done with some kind of colorwheel chart to cross-reference from one set of numbers to the other?

not the way i did it, maybe it's possible, or maybe there's an easier way than i did it,..
But what i did was qucikly make a mod by using the SCS def file for the paint job and change the value for base_color_locked: true to false.

That way you can see the colour codes in game.

Brute-force hacking. Got it. :-D
anomaly.va 13 ABR 2021 a las 1:56 p. m.
Yeah, sometimes hacking is necessary, but I wouldn't know where to start. For instance, I'm kinda bummed the 386 Pete mod doesn't work on 1.40, but I can't do much about it until the author fixes it... First truck I drove at the second carrier I drove for and my favorite of all I drove. Freightliner Cascadias were more reliable in my experience, but I really liked that 386... Bummed I can't drive one in this game ATM... Would like to change my whole fleet over to them.

Thank you all for the responses. Just about to fire up the game now, so I appreciate everyone's help. Especially because I'm just playing a vanilla version of it, so I didn't event think to look at any of the game files. Thanks again.
