American Truck Simulator Map DLC Clarifications [blog.scssoft.com]
In this blog it states the following:
"It would be great to get the chance to reach the East Coast, it would be fabulous to be able to push north towards at least 60 degs latitude and south towards the Equatorial. But ultimately, it is up to you, our fans, if this happen - you will vote with your wallets. We expect to get the right guidance from you on future growth of our team to handle the new opportunities and challenges."
So basically it is up to us, the players, if development continues after the next two announced states of Wyoming and Texas.
There has been no further information since that blog before the game released in 2016. It is the most up to date information that SCS has released.
Oh okay awesome well I just dropped like 90 bucks getting the game and all the states available and some other dlc so hope that helps the decision lol.
If they manage to create all the states, my guess would be 15 years of development
A lot of people forget as SCS moves further east that the states get smaller. The general consensus will be that we will receive multiple states in one DLC.
There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that they release Delaware, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont all as individual states.
I'm already old, I hope I live that long!
As for the itty bitty eastern states it shouldn't really matter if they roll some together to make comparable size/price expansions as with the larger states so far or release them separately, if they're working to the same scale/density of road network as at present the states as named will get done faster than at present either way. So long as the price reflects the lesser volume of work if they do release them separately I don't really care which approach they take.
Imagine doing anything for years daily and not getting faster, better and more efficient at it.
Lets hope the designers are well paid and respected at SCS
Hopefully they do it ETS2 style and make the DLC maps larger but less detailed so we don't spend years stuck in the Prairy states while everybody is waiting for the Apalantian mountains and the big cities on the East Coast.
Let's say 6 months for a DLC and they start doing multiple states
Montana by itself
North and South Dakota
Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska
Minnesota and Wisconsin
Iowa and Missouri
Arkansas and Louisiana
Illinois and Indiana
Kentucky and Tennessee
Mississippi and Alabama
Michigan probably by itself
Florida and Georgia
Ohio and West Virginia
Virginia, North and South Carolina
Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey
New York, Conneticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts
Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine
8 years and that's if they can bundle up those states
Also keep in mind the further east you get, the more dense things get. Also consider improvements in graphics and other updates....I'd guess closer to 10 years for all the states.
Probably ambitious to say only 6 months for all of them, but here's my theoretical grouping for the east-coast and mid-west states along with some ATS-appropriate names.
New England
Gulf Coast
Appalachian Country
High Plains
Delta Blues
Great Lakes
Sweet Carolinas
Fruit Bowl (Georgia and Florida)
Mid-Atlantic/East Coast Low
Boswash/Northeast Corridor
Sry, there's absolutely no chance on bundling together, the states you've mentioned.
I mean they already said they would like to do two states(hopefully) per year, but even North+South Dakota together, is a total stretch in itself.
If you're interested.. you may want to take a look in the scsforums. There's a good discussion going on about possible bundled states and future DLCs.
