ATS into a new computer
Hi Friends,
I decided for a new computer but OS changes from Windows 7 64 Bit to Windows 10 64 Bit.
By Steam I can reinstall all two programs but I shall lose all my progress trucks and so on...!
Into ETS2 and ATS folders there is a subfolder named "Profiles", if I copy and paste this one into new computer what happen?!?
Pls advise.
Tks a lot for your support and excuse me for my English, yes I know it is a disaster! :-)

You have to copy your profile folders from the old computer to the new one.

Backup the whole of the "\Documents\American Truck Simulator" folder.
Upgrade your OS to Windows 10.
Install Steam.
Install "American Truck Simulator"
Play ATS.
Create new profile and do the tutorial.
Once you have finished that exit from the game.
Now copy your backed up folder overwriting the existing folder and files.
Now play the game as you was before with your original profiles etc.

The other thing you can do is turn on Steam Cloud backup for the game and also cloud backup for any profile you have. Play the game after you have changed these cloud backup settings on any profile you want to keep.
The hopefully after you changed OS and installed steam again and ATS it will get the files from the cloud.

Personally I have always done the first option as I know what is what and I am sure I have everything. I am not so confident with the cloud saves etc.

Just to add another data point, I have been through this process this month - albeit between rigs running Windows 10, but that shouldn't matter here. All I did was copy both Truck Simulator directories (folders if you prefer that terminology) to the new machine (I play ETS2 as well as ATS) - I kept the same userid so the locations were identical - installed Steam and the games and then ran as normal. There is no need to create a dummy profile.

The create a dummy profile was just to make sure the install worked OK.
It would get wiped when you copied the folders back.
Tks a lot my Dear! There is not folders/directories conflict from Win-7 and Win-10! I shall do when my new Alienware will delivery to me.

Definitely make sure you enable the Steam cloud backup on your profile in the future. If you do, you'll never have to copy the folders over again. Your progress will go with you anywhere you log into Steam to play that profile.

That is not needed as any new profiles created after game version 1.33 has Steam Cloud enabled by default.

The downside is that I've seen the Steam Cloud destroy save files to where they won't load and pretty much destroying a person's save game.

I did!
New computer arrived, ATS and ETS2 installed, copy&paste old "Profiles" directory/folders from old computer (Windows 7 64bit) into new computer (Windows 10 Home 64bit) and everithing is OK, also steering wheel (Logitech G27) configured like on old computer!
I can confirm, no problems from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
Thank you a lot my friends.....
