I played Euro Truck Sim 2 with my Logitech G27 wheel, but then Logitech issued drivers for Windows 10 that totally messed up the wheel to the point where I bought ATS and never even played it. sigh The wheel went into the box and never came out again. Months ago.

Then I got so bored with all my other games this week, I decided to play ATS, but only use the keyboard. I didn't have high hopes after, well, simulating the entire experience in ETS2.

But you know what? Driving with the keyboard is actually BETTER. For one, I don't have to lug out the bulky wheel and pedals and shifter and screw em down to my table, etc etc. That all takes time, and it got to be a real pain in the butt.

There's really not many keys that I use. WASD, for accel/brake and steering, then the mouse is used to look around, and the only other keys I've need is windshield wipers is K key (even tho it hardly ever rains in ATS using default setting), and cruise control is engaged/disengaged by the C key. That's it! That's all I use to play this game, and I'm almost completed every Steam achievement already, after like 30 hours of play. LOL

Oh, and also, I do use the turn signals to properly simulate things... that's the two bracket keys, [ and ].

There's a slight delay because of turning the wheel, but it took me less than 5 minutes to get used to it and it becomes totally intuitive. It's not a problem with the game, it's actually the way a truck drives in real life. They do a good job with this game, and boy do I love games with simple commands and I don't need to always hook up some expensive peripheral device to play.

And that should tell you just about all you need to know, I think. Have fun!

I have over 1,000 hours in ETS2 and more than 100 hours in ATS (many times I play without going online for this reason my online statistics are lower) and I have always used only the keyboard without any problem: the keyboard works great with both games and SCS made a really good work on the keyboard management.

I play ATS and ETS2 with k/b all the time. I tried my wheel for a few hours and i didn't like it.

Keyboard = good
controller (360 wireless in my case) = far better
wheel (g27) = god like.
