SKRS Shifter
My SKRS shifter arrived yesterday as well as the first USB mini controller for my dash board. The shifter is a nice upgrade to my driving sim. Replaces the knob on my G25 shifter and away you go. Years ago I did the shifter detent upgrade and I'm glad I did because the extra weight of this shift knob makes the old shifter a little floppier. It works well although the splitter is situated so that the rocker action is up down, not fore aft. Doesn't bother me because the three trucks I owned had a 5 and 2 (short fourth), a 10 speed Eaton Fuller and a 9 speed Eaton, no splitter on the last 2 and no range shifter on the first.

It is definitely harder to float gears than the real thing but I'm getting the hang of it. I'm really enjoying this new add on.

I have 9 functions working on my dash now and am waiting for a 32 function controller to arrive so I can finish it off. Soon I will be able to ditch the keyboard for all but a few keys and typing. Up to now, sitting in my sim rig with the keyboard on my lap has been kind of goofy. It doesn't stay in one place and every time you need a function you have to hunt for the key.

Now, to go get that dynamite delivered to Carson City...

By SKRS you mean the Simu Ride Shift Knob?

The original SKRS, which was made by CSIO, turned out to be nothing but a scam and money grab by the people who made it.

A seller calling a shift knob for ATS or ETS2 "SKRS" is like a bank advertising their "Bernie Madoff Investment Option" :lunar2019smilingpig:

If I may correct myself I believe the first SKRS might have been the Almar SKRS which is very similar to the Simu Ride?

I remember the huge topic that happened several years ago about CSIO. What surprised me the most by that was that SCS Software said nothing about it. They changed the way shifter set up was done because of that knob.

Then CSIO #2 happened with Tech Affliction.

Yes, that's right. Sorry for the confusion.

I got mine on Amazon and other than a bit of a "modfied" shift pattern, i love how it works.

This is the knob i run.

Here is the one I have...

I like it but am disappointed in the games clutch action. I just pulled a 55,000 lb tractor and it was a son of a gun to get going if you were on an up hill incline. Has anyone got the heavy haul quarry truck moving with an H Shifter? If so, how did you configure your clutch settings?

It might be a problem with how the particular engine that you are using is programmed.
A poorly implemented engine can stall when you release the clutch, but that would not normally happen. Clutch action should be a non-issue in ATS, just release it and go unless your engine is actually overwhelmed by what you are asking of it, which very rarely occurs in the game.

I took out a stock 389 to compare to the Jon Ruda one I was driving and it had the same problem. I have seen two things in searching forums and one was as Sandhill mentioned, something hinky with the engine and the other was to do with the dead zone slider in the clutch settings. Mine was about 2/3rds to the left. I tried it to the right and made it worse so I put it 9/10ths to the right and it is much better. Guess I better go try a heavy haul and see if it is really fixed.

Thanks for the info.

I got my double low boy and took a job hauling that tracked tractor and our all up weight is 107,000 lbs. With the dead zone slider where it is now all is good so far.

That would be nice. In real life, you pick the appropriate gear to take off in and simply ease the clutch out and apply throttle once you start to roll. It's not like a car where you coordinate throttle and clutch. It would be nice to see the game get this right.

And that's what his mod does, clutch fully out, then throttle
