can't download trucks
I'm trying to install the free dlc trucks, when I try to download the trucks all it does is open the game and nothing happens. (BTW ATS is shared library)

If it's the Mack or Western Star, there is an issue with Steam dealing with free DLC content that is preventing these newer trucks from being shared. It's not just ATS, but other games on Steam also have this issue.

on shared library if you are not the owner you cant use any free dlcs. it has been that way for a long time

but how was I able to get the mack anthem from the game?

At first the Anthem wasn't available under family share either.

Not sure what SCS did to resolve that.

wait but the base game is shared. I just wanna get the free DLC by myself

As your account does not own the game itself the DLC's are not available to you.

Please read what Ryu mentioned above. It is a Steam issue because of the way free content is handled.

Nothing that we can do about it.
