Truck Exhaust
I wish they would model better looking truck exhaust on the std scs trucks, In real life they don't look so plastic. Give us a decent grill mesh and a few different exhaust tips. It can be the difference between a decent looking truck to some god awful plastic model toy. Yeah I know mod it , but many of us don't have the time or tools. That Western Star ....I cant look at it less buy one....lol

My understanding is that it was part of the licensing agreement to not model exhaust smoke

OP wasn't talking about 'exhaust smoke' they were referring to how the stacks look in the game...

Litterally takes 5 seconds to use a mod from steam workshop...

I will look for one, but haven't seen one yet. I do use plenty of mods but the problem, well not so much a problem, but with the game constantly updating. ( which is good ) mods often become outdated very quick so I tend to use mods that are proven rather than quick fix truck parts addons.

I would suggest that SCS wouldn't be permitted to offer 'custom parts' from a genuine truck dealer? The truck manufacturer would have contracts in place withtheir suppliers of materials as well. I guess it's like a Venn diagram of responsibility.

In addition, it does leave some scope for modders, which are the 'businesses' that do offer after market products for SCS game trucks/trailers.
So there's kinda like a mutualism there.

Does that make sense to anyone?

Yes , but in an disambiguation sort of way in which it removes any scope for modelling errors due to copy write. but yeah Modders do pick up the slack and make it look good.

So can we have a Modder put a decent set of dual 8 inch thick, non EPA loving, heat shielded "Chrome Choofers" with on this God forsaken ugly attempt at modernising the Western Star .... Oh and a couple of matching Late 1900's skyward reaching Air mother truckin cleaners too please.... For no other reason than to appease the Old school in me.

I agree 100% as I was actually just thinking to myself earlier ... i'd love a custom set of mitered tip stacks for the 49x lol. Hopefully custom accessory packs will come to ATS in the future, like how SCS did a few for the trucks in ETS2.
