Go to your Steam library, right click on American Truck simulator, select properties

In the popup window under "launch options" type "-edit" without quotes, close the popup.

Now start ATS.

Note: make sure your "mod" folder is empty (or move all your mods in it to another empty folder) when you're editing a map.

When I do that it makes my screen go black.

Before buying my PC, I was playing on a Imac and if I remember, the map editor was not compatible on OSX.

By that, you mean moving all the mods in another folder or simply start a new profile without any mods?

Before my reply i checked if what i said was right and forgot to replace my mods for it, and the editor seemed to work, but in the past i was advised to move them to a different folder which can be inside the mod folder.
That was on ets2 btw, but then i couldn't load the editor when the mods were in the main mod folder then.

But i have the game on a Windows PC, i have no idea if the editor works on a Apple/Mac pc.

edit: Also, i think all mods (un less moved to a different place), at least Steam Workshop mods do automatically load when you want to test the map from inside the map editor, which can be really annoying depending on the mods :-)

I think for memory the map editor is DirectX only, no OGL support.
Thank you everyone.
