hello, i too use options to start game but mine go a bit further
-64bit -nointro -mm_max_resource_size 80 -mm_max_tmp_buffers_size 1000 -mm_pool_size 8192
and all runs smooth with 90-104 fps
tmp_buffers_size is a total number of them, not a measurement of how big each one is.
(max_tmp_buffers_size / max_resource_size) - 1 = number of loading buffers.
So, mine is (726/66) - 1, which gives 10
Why minus 1? All Max said was "it's a rounding thing"
He added that the resource_size increase is for those who have a 'few' resources that are quite large. An example is the 87Mb dds images in some of the weather mods around.
You can leave the resource_size at 22, and increase the tmp_buffers_size to give you more loading buffers, meaning that you have normal size resources, but a LOT of them.
Promods, for example.
This info, passed on by Max as SCS was aimed at higher-end computers wanting more performance. The bigger these numbers are, the bigger hit on your machine's hardware.
You'll just have to try different combinations to see what suits your situation.
The ones I posted, and use, are for mid-range machines to give added performance.
When I first tried this out, I started a new profile in ETS2, cheated myself some XP and $$, bought a Scania R730 and driving around the city (game res: 2560x1440) I was getting 70fps+ with a GTX750 GPU :)
Which is a damn sight better than the 35-45 I was getting prior to that.
ATS and ETS2 are not demanding. Any hardware not up to these games should already in the dust bin and needs no particular help
When I came back to ETS2/ATS after 4 years, there were a lot of new features. Suddenly I was getting only 15-30fps with the same hardware and settings, when I was getting 75-90fps before. After playing with almost every setting imaginable, the only thing I ended up doing was disable SSAO and DOF. SSAO was responsible for dropping my framerate to almost nothing (even on Low), and DOF was turning the new 1.40 lighting system into blurry mush.
My humble 2010 PC build is Win7x64 based, i7-2600, 16gb RAM, with dual GTX 560Ti's in SLi mode, and an older-than-dirt mobo that only has PCI-E 2.0 slots (i.e. can't use any new GPUs past 2012 production) and I'm getting even better framerates (90+ FPS) than I did in 2017 with all my settings on medium or high.
...and I still haven't tried the command line tweaks yet, LOL. Might want to try those 2 settings I mention before giving up so easily.
