Cant buy a truck?

I cannot purchase any trucks. The truck dealers constantly say they are closed but their hours of being open are the current time of day. Makes no sense. Is this a bug?

I don't believe you have your own truck, and try to buy a truck online, you have to go to the to visit the truck dealer there sell that truck you want. You can only buy a truck online when you have reach 5 trucks.

What you do is when you go to the menu, for truckdealers you say yes to travel to the dealer that will take you there. If you don't do that it means you buy it online, that you can't do before you havew bought the first 5 trucks.

The travel to truck dealer is grayed out. Says dealer store is closed but it is always closed.

If you don't own a truck you can't 'travel to the dealer'.

To buy your first truck you'll need to visit a dealer mid job.

At the start of the game you nominate your preferred truck and after you have made your first delivery the dealership for your preferred truck is unlocked. Once the bank is unlocked you can then take out a loan and go to that dealership and purchase a truck.

FWIW that is true for ETS2, but for ATS you only have to own 3 trucks in order to buy online.

Are you sure you're not confusing this with buying garages? Online truck purchase is after owning 5 and online garage purchase is after owning 3.

Yes, I am as sure as I can be given that I can't see the code :) Things seem to be controlled by this setting in economy_data:

        truck_count_for_online: 3       # number of owned trucks to unlock buying online feature

whereas ETS2 has this:

        truck_count_for_online: 5       # number of owned trucks to unlock buying online feature

FWIW I've never been able to find a setting that controls how many garages you need to buy before you unlock online purchases so that one might be hard-coded.

Right on. It's been a long time since I've owned more than a single truck on any profile and I had assumed both games were setup the same. If that's in the economy file then you could easily mod it to be 0 and have online truck purchase available from the get-go! :)
