For skins i recommend that you try it the manual way and not use apps like Mods Studio, or if you must, use the old version of that.
The new version adds files you don't need and just makes things confusing and complicated.
Truck mods and 3d modelling use some of the same principles, but are way more complicated and not only take a long time to master, just making them is also a very time consuming past time.
But you could start with accessories and stuff like a bull bar (as in the SCS tutorial) and work your way up from there.
I don't remember how i got to upload mods to Steam, i recall something about needing to give my tax info and other stuff, to this day i'm not sure if that was actually needed, but for sure you need the SCS Uploader that you can find on Steam.
