Secondary Vehicle Lights
Are secondary vehicle lights killing anyone else's game? I was so confused this whole time what was causing so much lag and messed with this and maxed back up to 60 fps. Just wanted to ask and let anyone know if your game isn't running well deselect secondary vehicle lights and you will get MUCH better fps.

Pardon my stupidity but what does the secondary vehicle lights setting control? I've tried it both on and off and not noticed any visual difference (in terms of what lights are on/off).

It basically controls the bloom of your lights on your truck. I'm honestly not sure why it causes my game to lag a lot but it does. Try turning it on at night and putting your blinker on, you should see it a lot on the cabin, then turn it off and you won't see it anymore.

Ah, that makes sense, thanks! "Secondary vehicle lights" seems like a bit of an odd name for it though.

I'm not getting much of a performance hit from it (though my average FPS is somewhere around 38ish anyway for unrelated reasons). Thanks for the tip though!

Most of their sliders and options are confusing. What the Options menu calls Brightness is actually gamma adjustment.

Yes, I was getting a hit on frames at night and when I turned that option off, yes it sucks not having the ground light splash from the turn signals and brake lights...but now I don't get such a dive in frames.

I used to have the weird stutter (game ran smoothly but would be having a very brief but noticeable pause every half second) and turning this off made a big difference toward fixing that.

THANKS SOOO MUCH. Solved a ton of my lag problems. my game is modded and my trucks are covered in lights. I never would of thought it would be the lights!
so yes this did help but to me its not realistic hopefully next update will fix it so i can play without lag

The game is lagging because it is extremely CPU bound. That should be fixed this year with the game engine update to DX12, fixing anti-aliasing and other things.
okay good to hear

I can't wait! Although getting rid of front mirrors seemed to have fix most of my minor FPS.

The game engine needs optimizing its absolutly garbage. 3080ti and can only get 30-40fps where every other game i can get way over 100fps. Just care for dlc then acually making a decent engine

Drop the scaling down a bit it you have it at full. I have a 3070 and getting 70-100 FPS at 300% scaling (maybe 200, but i don't think so).
