Game save gone?

Loaded in today after a few months and I have no gamesave anymore, is this a common thing?

The game has been updated, maybe your old game saves aren't compatible, just guessing.

mine have gone aswell, not happy after 90 plus hours of work gone, no warnings or anything,

if you're not using the Steam Cloud save, then there should be old game saves in "C:\Documents\American Truck Simulator\profiles\ profiles(many game dates) .bak" Put them in date order to see the last one saved, 1.40 saved the last 1.39 game with the ".bak" back-up extension.

Im having an issue where every time I load in there isnt a profile that I made previously left. Made one in 1.40 and when I came home from work, the game deleted it and I have to keep starting from 0

Had it set to cloud save. There is a 1.39 bak in there. Any way to make it load from there instead of the cloud. Or will I have to roll back to 1.39 first.

Ok so i rolled it back to 1.39 , turned off cloud save copied the save from 1.39 into the folder and nothing, tried turning cloud save back on to check, even installed and uninstalled the mods, recopying the save file back in each time in case it rewrote something,

how can i get my saves back, do game devs read these forums??

they have talked about this update for months and you can backup the game at anytime. Dont blame your apathy and procrastination on them. All you have to do is sell the trucks and make new ones you don't lose any levels or time spent but you do gain a much better looking game

Devs do not read this forum, they may check occasionally, but won't be looking for, or answering, player's questions.
When you restore a save to your profile, are asking it to load a previous save or just expecting the game to start at the last saved position? The game will have made a * .bak save when the update was installed, unless you deleted it, it is still on your computer.

Ahh no my saves are gone, so yes my levels are gone. there is no profile to select even after rolling back to the previous versions i can not get my profile to load,

Devs do not read this forum, they may check occasionally, but won't be looking for, or answering, player's questions.

I have tried copying my save game out of the .bak into the save folder before and after reverting to an older version. but my profile doesn't show up, i have tried everythign i have found, was hoping anyone else who has had this, that has managed to fix it could chime in.

I ended up giving at as it overwrote my save everywhere. Not mad though, the game truly does look crazy compared to what it did. Happy to re-grind in what feels like a new game. Having fun. Hope the rest of you can get your issue sorted!

Decided to play some ATS again. Bought 4 DLCs. Reinstalled. Save gone. Uninstalled. Refunded 4 DLs. Shopping new games!

Heh, I feel it. I almost quit but then decided a new save would do good for me. This constant crashing though, that may very well make me quit.

Heh, I feel it. I almost quit but then decided a new save would do good for me. This constant crashing though, that may very well make me quit.

I might change my mind in the future, but right now it just kinda left a bad taste in my mouth. Losing saves is so last century!!

Agreed. Quite sucky. Gotta feel it out before I buy any DLC, but thinking I may.
