Also I find it easier to see at night than the previous version.
You have Roof and Front Auxiliary off, Fill boxes with checkmark.
Why is my game, which has the same GFX settings as ver 1.39, not having this problem?

All looks fine to me.
Why not look through the windshield, as if you were driving and compare your view, then post a screenshot of it again.
1. Adjust in-game brightness.
2. Turn off or reduce the lights in your room.
3. Adjust your monitor settings. Some monitors come with preset profiles for different situations and further, you may be able to create a custom profile and save it.
You can do anyone of these or all of them.
128 errors that didn't affect gameplay or the visuals, it was the first time running ATS after the update was installed and the missing cities for connecting to Wyoming caused a lot, the rest were scenery loading. I haven't had a crash in ATS or ETS2 since I can remember.
Definitely no problems with the lighting or colours, though.
I understand that many people run mods. But that kind of explanation just doesn't work for people like us who have never installed one. I love this game, but now it's almost impossible to drive at night.
I was not able to see the entrance to a dirt track at night, according to the gps it was right next to it, but it was impossible to see it with those new lights now that hardly illuminate from the front, even less on the sides.
High beams don't help either, they're like a pocket flashlight
Hope they fix it
Edit: So, during the day everything is burned by that blinding white and at night you can't see anything. Not very happy.
Note: I am still not visited in ATS / ETS2 since update because busy to get mods updated.
I can
My probs r driving during the day. everything is way too bright.
