how to get no damage based achievements?
It sounds simple, and I thought it would be as simple as "don't hit anything". But after a heavy cargo long haul (59k pounds, 1400 miles), i got 3 percent on both my truck and my trailer despite not hitting anything. Going to google, it turns out the game does employ "natural" wear and tear damage from long hauls, being mostly load based, heavier weights will cause it more often. So if I cannot do a long haul without damage, cannot do a heavy cargo with increased wear and tear, how in the pumpkin-patch am I supposed to get the "do ____ without damage" achievements without resorting to "no damage" mods? Seems kind of contradictory to me that natural wear and tear damage still negates the possibility of the achievement, but then you cannot even work around it.

Without damage means without accident damage now. Wear and tear damage doesn't count.

The damage you have to avoid is CARGO damage. Damage to truck and trailer are not factored for these achievements.

Well that's weird because I didn't get any cargo damage and all damage sustained was wear and tear and I didnt get either of the heavy cargo achievements I should have gotten.

Since there are no Heavy Cargo pack loads that are 59,000 lbs I am guessing you hauled a modded cargo. You only get the achievement for cargoes from the DLC.

I recently completed the 1K mile heavy load and the "dumper" special load achievements. Snagged some curbs but not enough to damage cargo...Achievements credited. Something squirrely if you did the same and got no credit.

Or... get a "no damage" mod.

I don't have any mods. Load was 59,112, IIRC.

I should have gotten "Time for Big Hauling" and "Heavy, But Not Bull in a China Shop"; being "haul a load from the heavy cargo DLC pack" and "haul a load from the heavy cargo DLC pack 1k miles". That being said, after seeing above how there are no Heavy Cargo pack loads bearing the scales at 59k (just for the load) I guess it was a standard load that just happened to be heavy...

to get those achievements you need to a) own the heavy cargo dlc and b) haul one of these loads:
All Terrain Crane
Bulldozer (40t)
Cable Reel
Crawler Tractor
Lift Truck
Lift Truck Chassis
Milling Machine
Scraper
Transformer

anyone of these will complete the achievements and for the one that requires the weight of 175k lb you need to have a fully upgraded truck, full fuel tanks and be hauling the transformer. the vanilla trucks can get that achievement but require fully upgraded truck and full fuel tanks.

Ah yeah, my load was 3x tractor trailers stack "onto" each other. What do you mean by "vanilla" trucks? The rig I use is a Western Star 49x with the 500-something horsepower (2050 lb-ft torque @ 975 RPM) with an 18 speed (don't remember if I got the one with a retarder or not). Currently rocking a 6x4 250 gallon since I don't have a frame with more capacity / drive wheels that is compatible with my sleeper cab.

Are you sure you didn't hit something? 3% is a lot of wear & tear for only 1400 miles.

Very positive. The truck and trailer went up congruently. Truck went to 1, 2 and 3 percent at the exact same time the trailer did. Never got the "bing" notifications or anything.

This is pretty standard, I do a 1000+ mile load everyday and they always have 3% damage (unless I make a mistake then it can be more, but that is rare).
