I suggest grabbing the demo and seeing if you will like it.
I would say it has pretty good backing simulation. Honestly the areas it asks you to go are way tighter than most of what you encounter in RL. Beyond that, it helped me understand backing better. Also made me realize how much I love fender mirrors over a stupid passenger side only rear facing camera.....wish the truck I drove for US Xpress had fender mirrors. Then I mighta been able to see my trailer when I turned.
But in game the front axel on a split axel flatbed just slides like its on ice, which ends up making everything way too easy.
Honestly, the best way to learn how to back up irl is to just do it a lot! Find a big open section of parking spaces and just do your best to back up into them. Also, theres no shame at all in getting out to look where your trailer is. Doing that will show that you care about not hitting anything. Dont let anyone rush you either. Take your time, go slow, and pay attention.
Also, for god sakes driver, get yourself a CB if you dont already have it. It can save your life, as well as others.
