Looking for 900 with 3 axle rear steering
Maybe one doesnt exist, but does anyone know of a mod out there for a Kenworth W900 that has 3 axles behind the cab with the rear most one being steerable and at least the other 2 being powered (would love it if all 3 had power sent to them)

it doesnt have to be just the W900... a peterbilt 389, freightliner classic, lonestar, or even a 49x would be ok.

I think you'll find Viper's Pete has a tri-drive. It also has a rear-steer chassis option.. But I don't know if there's a rear-steer tri-drive option :)

But you could mod the mod to make it so! ;)

All you have to do is edit the chassis def and add these lines:

steerable_axle[0]: true
steerable_axle[1]: true
steerable_axle[2]: false
steerable_axle[3]: false

You may have to play around with the T & F between axles 1 & 3 - some chassis have the rear axle as 1, some have it as 3.

Yep, but truth be known I've always wanted to say "rear-steer tri-drive" in a post ;)

... is it as simple as downloading the mod and editing a couple lines in the file?

I've never fiddles with it... and I had a little apprehension editing the speed limiter in the convoys before the big was fixed... im not very technologically inclined... which is weird since I'm 27 lol

It is that simple...it is just a text file; there will be one for each chassis type in the def/vehicle/truck/[truck name here] folder

the six on one side tractor's rear axle's come in two varieties.

One is all six are fixed, meaning all on the surface all the time.
The other has the ability to pick up the front of the three. thus avoiding a whole lot of additional tire wear.

If and when the front set of three axle's are actually connected together it's referred to as a lift able axle. If they are not connected, meaning there no axle between the right one and the left one, it's referred to as a "TAG" axle.

Lift able axle's can at a considerably higher cost than "TAG" axle's, also be steerable.
"TAG" axle's can not ever be steerable.

Basically when one is purchasing a Large Car aka Truck. It boil's down to what it's going to be utilized for. With all of the various component's today being the same. Meaning one can install any motor, any transmission, any rear end. Basically any and all Truck's are only different in there appearance. One can load out a Pete in the same exact way one can load out a KW, Mac, Volvo etc. etc. etc.
