Buy a new garage or upgrade?
I'm nearing the point where I'll need to get more garage space so I can get some drivers so I was wondering how I should go about that. Does it matter if I upgrade my current garage or buy another garage? Will one give me more space than another? Thanks in advance.

By upgrading you get 5 slots plus a refuel pump. My mistake was I bought drivers and trucks too soon, not realizing the trucks they drive also need repairs/upkeep. On top of that the driver you hire takes awhile to upgrade their skills. You won't see much profit in the beginning because of that. Since each truck (I used mine as a clone) is pricey fully upgraded.
To fill all the slots for arguments sake would cost you $500K. I'd have a million in the bank + the 500 to give yourself a cushion.
Once you start seeing profits from drivers that is, it becomes easier.
I'd buy the properties 1st. Have at least 3, fully upgrade, then the trucks and drivers. Buy the time you fill the 3rd, the 1st will turn over a profit. After awhile, you'll start seeing the money rolling in.

Thanks, but I'm having a bit of trouble understanding what you mean. So grind with my own truck until I have a million or so then buy a garage and drivers?

Just upgrade you current garage to full capacity, when you can.

Add a driver and truck, let them start to earn a bit of money, it will be slow at the start but just leave them to do their thing, no need to micro manage.
Get them the cheapest truck no need for anything flash at the start as it makes no real difference what they drive.
Later when lots of money is coming in you can upgrade your ai drivers trucks if you want to.

Carry on driving, doing jobs, earning money, until you have enough to buy another driver and truck.

Keep doing that and the money will be rolling in.

At the start you will need to visit other garages to purchase them, later you will be able to buy them from the garage manager.

Same goes for trucks you will need to visit a truck dealer to purchase them for your ai drivers, later you will be able to buy them "online".

I hope that helps.

Upgrade what you have and when you get another garage look for one thats not on a busy street. Preferably getting a garage on a dead end etc. But importantly look for businesses around garage to haul for. Need to keep those wheels turning or there's no money.

Thank you, that's what I was looking for

I also prefer buying new garages instead of upgrading the ones I own. The ability to quick travel between garages whenever you want is something I quite like using. If you have one 5 bay garage, you have one place you can quick travel. If you buy two garages, you will have 6 bays for not much more money, and a second location to travel to if you want. When starting I try to get garages that are in vastly different places so I can move around the map quickly. One in Phoenix, and a second in North California, for example, gives you the ability to quickly move between either side of the map, assuming you have the base game, with no map expansions, but the same idea can be used no mattter what states you own.
