Corrupted files after update. AGAIN. 6-10-2021
Previous title: "(9-9-21) In regards to these last updates... // 31-8-21 update, game starts crashing after update again."

This last update corrupted my game's files.

Game crashes while playing normally in the same spot over and over again after this last update. I verified the game's files integrity thru steam and it started downloading 5 gbs (almost the entire game for me).

I have a very low internet connection, it isn't the first time it happend, before the 1.41 official release every few updates on the 1.41 Beta it happend few times, i didn't mind cuz it was Beta.

But now it's started happen again with this last update, last time i had to download the entire game almost twice in a row cuz after doing file check integrity and downloading same 5 gbs game worked with weird graphics bugs so i had to re-install the whole game and it worked fine again, all this, each time after an update.

- NOT USING MODS (not then or now)

- Clean Game

- It happend with both games, ETS2 and ATS.

This is game log: https://pastebin.com/8behs7tC

Im downloading the whole game now... that will be several hours with my internet.

Writing all this cuz I hope they fix it and it doesn't become the norm.

I know i doesn't happens to everyone, but i've noticed that some ppl have manifested the same issue before...

EDIT: 31/8/21
Game crashes again due to base game file corrupted after this last update, Same pattern as before.

Verified game files integrity and i'm downloading the whole game once again...

Here Game NEW LOG:
https://pastebin.com/ajkFUkPw

I've noticed that some ppl also complains about the same, of game crashing on start up.

It happend to me while loading the city with a job, i canceled the job and fast travel to another city then game loaded the city but i could't drive far cuz game crashed again...

WHAT IS HAPPENING???

EDIT: 9/9/21
Hi, again. These last few small updates haven't made my game crashed...

After these last small updates game worked fine up untill i've noticed some graphics degradation/bugs today (Shivering lines and really rough edges with also weird bugged colored graphics on the city A.I. trailers and cargo).

have verified game files integrity and it's downloading the base game.scs file, AGAIN.

This same graphics bug happend to me while on 1.41 BETA, now is been happening same issues but instead of game crashing now are these weird graphics bugs...

Every graphic setting is the same, as before the updates and after.

Downloading base game .sii file, Again.

New, New Game log: https://pastebin.com/LunSd46L

6-10-21

Beta 1.42 Game corrupted files after 6-10-21 update, same pattern as before, doesn't matter MODS neither drivers.

Base game file (almost the entire game) has to be redownloaded after doing a file check integrity, then game works fine again.

This after almost each new update... ATS and ETS.

Sorry but updates do not corrupt an entire game. There might be a missing file or two that a file integrity check solves.

Your graphics card is probably the culprit here though. Even though the GTX 580 can run DX12, it will only do so at feature level 11.0 of DirectX.

ATS and ETS2 run on feature level 11.1. With thr current situation with graphics cards I can understand the pain of not wanting to shell out for a card that people are asking truly insane amounts of money for.

There are reports lately that MicroCenter(if you have one close), BestBuy and other retailers that are selling some of the newer cards at manufacturer suggested retail prices. These are only found in store though.

Why would you say that you are not using any mods. Your game is full of mods. So you are using mods.

The game itself says it's not using mods:

00:00:14.428 : New profile selected: ':no_cloud/WEXLER24000'
00:00:15.000 : [mods] Active 0 mods (local: 0, workshop: 0)

As to the corrupted files it sounds like a storage problem, it is certainly not normal to have to keep re-downloading files.

Hi all,

ATS is currently one of the best simulations on the market and I truly enjoy it.

However, just like elWexler, I sometimes do have the exact same issue after an update is done and I can understand the frustration. I have never used any mods since the game was installed. When I verify the game files to fix it, it will always repair and re-download the base.scs file which is about 5GB in size now.

I have mentioned this in a couple of earlier discussion threads and have been told by community friends that it could be caused by how STEAM delivers these updates to certain user. I believe it's randomly effecting a small percentage of users and not the fault of the developers or the publisher.

I have tried the following:

- running the game as administrator
- only updating the game when I launch it
- launching the game with DirectX 11

Game crashes after updates still do happen but not always.

I am lucky because I recently switched to high speed broadband and it only takes several minutes to re-download the base.scs file.

Happy trucking. Cheers! :)

I don't think there is anything SCS can do about Steam corrupting files during a download.
bullfrog285 Aug 31, 2021 @ 8:29pm
Slow internet, may be the culprit as well.
anrgraham97 Sep 1, 2021 @ 12:14am
since i did the 1.41 update mine doesn't crash but it glitches seems to start doing it after the game has been running for a few minutes any suggestions
spinitinjr Sep 1, 2021 @ 2:30am
I don't think it is a problem with his computer. I have a two month old $5000 Origin High Performance PC. After update game crashes 2 to 3 minutes after starting to drive. Disabled all mods, still crashes, closes and throws me to desktop.
Das_P0m Sep 1, 2021 @ 4:03am
Just disabling mods doesnot really help due to the fact that some things will still be there but not displayed. Check your log to see if the game struggles with anything like that.

Already redownloading the whole game, game works fine after a re-install despite de save but Thanks., will def try that next time it happens, ofcourse hoping it dosen't happen again... :steamsad:
Madkine Sep 2, 2021 @ 1:35am
Next time rather than re-downloading the whole game, try verifying your game files.

In Steam, right click on the game, select properties, goto local files tab and press verify integrity of game files.

If there is a bad file, only that file will be downloaded, rather than all of them.

Yeah, that's what i do.

I specifically stated the sitution in which i've done the file integrity check multiple times and it toss me to download the base game file, which is 5.7 gbs (almost the entire game)

Also staded why i do the re-instalation which is it had happend to me after downloaded the base game file thru file integrity check process, game have worked with graphics bugs and to avoid what's potentially having to download what's basically t whole game twice in a row (base game corrupted file, thru file check integrity and havin to re-install the game anyways when this isn't enough...) i just do after the update corrupted the game files a re-install then game works fine, always.

Try launching the game in safe mode
