I have already tried this and to no avail! its still the other way around. I went into my windows devices and found my truck shifter and it only has 2 buttons as I suspected one for the splitter and one for the range selector. The selector being down turns the button on.
Yes ive done all of this and its still got nothing to do with whats going on with my shifter. pretty much every video ive looked at they just go over the range selector "button" and shown where it was on the shifter knob itself. Nothing has helped with my predicament :(
I found it on ebay, its got Qinda on it and next to the high and low range it also has Asian Characters. Im assuming its some sort of Chinese knock off. I did not put it in because Its not a well known brand of Shifter knob
Mine does this, but that’s because I had it custom made to work with farming simulators also. If I don’t have my range and splitters in the “down” position when I load the game they will work backwards until I go back to the menu and start the game with them in the proper positions. Mine’s a really nice one though I ordered from Frank at his 3d shop on Etsy.
I’m not saying you aren’t already doing this, but if wires are crossed somewhere and your low is acting like the high, if you load into the game in the opposite position it may work more as intended.
Worth a shot.
Unfortunately this did not work I did this and it started in low gear 1 to 4 then when I switched to high it did nothing and then went back to the way it has always been :( I wonder if theres a way to actually make windows register the button the other way around with low being off and high being on.
Youve watched this video and did exactly everything he did and it's still backwards?
Make sure under control settings you have it set NOT to work as a switch (uncheck the check mark) below the gear settings (R, 1-> 6, splitter and range). If you have that check mark box set wrong it won't work at all. It sounds like how mine works, you have to start in the right position, and have it work as a "button" and not as a "switch."
"Shifter toggles use switch mode."
That box is only to be checked if using a shift knob. If you do not have that box checked...try checking it.
My shift knob only works if this is UNchecked. It depends on which knob you are using and how it is setup to work.

For my shifter, both switches are flipped, so I had to add the exclamation point to both gearsel1 and gearsel2. If your switch splitter works, but your range is backwards, you will only have to adjust gearsel1.
Even with this fix, each time you start up the game, you will have to flip both the range switch back and forth before you start to drive for some reason. I must remember to do this with both my range and splitter switches.

Yes, You do have to realise I do not have the same shifter knob as he has.
