speed
Why are the trucks so slow and lethargic? No prob with eurotruck, but this game is starting to annoy me? I dont have anything that prohibits speeding, but I have noticed this

External contracts will does have speed limit of 65 mph. You may also want to check the Menu option game play. And see if the it's set truck speed limit or Car speed limit. Also scroll down and check if speed limit has a check mark, if so. click on it to uncheck it.

American trucks, compared to European, are heavier, longer, and generally use lower-HP engines.

And travel in MPH vs KPH... :lunar2019smilingpig:

Not noticed any different to be honest if any thing faster in ATS
ATS limited to 65 MPH
UK limited to 56 MPH
No trouble getting to either limit

Try modifying your FOV. This can change the perception of speed.

Have you tried different gearbox ratios? Some are good for hauling heavy loads others good for normal loads, hills etc. I find them empty they out accelerate cars!

@ryu yes the American trucks are heavier and use a lower HP engines then the EU trucks. doing a test, with a Volvo FH which the author said was a direct port from ETS, the FH with its 750 HP engine accelerated slower then the T680 with its 600 HP engine.the test i used was a standard load of fuel the pick up and drop off where the same for both loads.

For me ATS feels a bit like a racing game so far. Maybe because some of the ETS physics are missing.

Yes, i agree. What with the cab not moving or anything. They corner like racing trucks!

You can fix that by lowering the cabin suspension slider in gameplay settings.

The stable ATS release does not have this slider yet.

Yes it does. It's with the braking intensity and trailer stability sliders.

Maybe you confused it with "truck suspension".

It's the same thing. Lower the slider, the cabin will move more.

Edit: In the config file, it's called g_cabin_suspension_stiffness, so yes that is what you want to move.

Now that is interesting. So ETS2 has two variables and two sliders, while ATS has the same two variables, but only one slider.
