Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York,, the tolls are over that way.
That said IRL even within EU there has been a problems with paying speeding tickets ect. across EU boarders. Why most EU countries insist that you pay fines INSTANTLY.
I reckon license plate scanning and paying this way is equally hard.
I do know that the EZPass system allows states to have reciprocal agreements with other states. My Colorado pass account is directly billed by Texas when I drive on tollways there.
[Toll booths are relics, almost non-existent now, in EU due to high cost of operation. Much easier and cheaper to have a machine do it. Toll roads pay for themselves much quicker when you don't have to pay someone to stand there.]
