No. Anything over say 500hp is just a waste when pulling general cargo freight. Fuel economy sucks on it.
Doesn't mean that you can't pull freight with it. It is overkill.
I would watch out on the Mack Anthem too. 505hp is not enough when pulling some of the heavier cargo loads. You can and probably will get stuck on some grades, or even going to a forestry site if the load is heavy enough, say over 120,000 lbs.
Not that much of an issue considering how cheap fuel is compared to the money you make and that you need to rest anyway.
