DLC Purchase options as a gift?

I would like to purchase the DLC content for a friend, but since I already own that content, there is no option to buy as a gift.

Anyway to get around this?

Purchase the DLC and at the end where you can choose for whom it is you select the option that it is a gift for someone.

That's the problem, the adds to cart option is grayed out so I can't go any further with the process.

You can't gift a bundle if that is what you are trying to do. Bundles are tied to your specific account.

You can give them money into their Steam Wallet so they can purchase the bundle themselves.

There you go. That's what I wanted to do was buy a bundle. Seems odd you can't do that.

You can always purchase from an alternative retailer that sells the content. Reputable ones can be found here https://isthereanydeal.com/

Read this before you even consider that option....it doesn't support SCS and tons of people have been burned buying keys that are scammed...

Those are the resellers, not the retailers. The ones listed on ITAD obtain their keys direct from the developers. In the OP, they even state:-

''If you want to support the developer, the best way is to buy directly from them, from Steam, or from highly regarded sites like humble bundle, green man gaming and some more''

Several times I (Canada) have tried to buy ATS DLC for friends (UK) and Steam has told me I can’t. Something about pricing and regions.

If the price difference is greater than 10% either way then it’s not possible. You can send them a digital gift card that will convert to the users local currency upon redemption, or buy the content from an authorised retailer ensuring the DLC can be activated in all regions.
