Game keeps on crashing in Boise.
Hello. I have recently purchased the Idaho and decided to explore the dlc and went to Boise. In boise my game is lagging heavily and crashing all the time. This is not happening anywhere else. My game is modded and I am version 1.39.

Probably your mods then.
Trucker_71 Nov 27, 2020 @ 1:12pm
You have map mods?

Post your game.log.txt to pastebin.com (no account needed) and then post the link here and we'll have a look for you.
The file can be found at "C:\Users\*USERNAME*\Documents\American Truck Simulator" for a default install.

Please post your complete game.log file from the crash to http://pastebin.com (copy/paste, split the game.log if it is too big) and post the link to it here please. This way we can find out what the problem is.

You can find your game.log in your documents in the ATS folder as a default install on Windows. (If it is not there check OneDrive.) On a Mac the ATS folder is in your Library and there in the Application Support. On Linux the ATS folder is in the .local and there in the share.

If pastebin is not available in your country please use http://rentry.co and post the link to it here please. The page works like pastebin.

I have had trouble getting through Boise since the DLC came out. Most recently i84. I wonder if Steam is trying to update in the background or Mozilla, etc,

I did a haul only yesterday that took me through Boise. No issues. I was on my way to Portland, Oregon on the run.

I don't remember the highway, but I started in Nogales, AZ.

Sorry to resurrect such an old post but I had the same issue. Every time I'd approach Boise Idaho the game would crash to desktop with no error message. I am running the build Oculus/OpenVR 1.46 (SDK 1.4.0).

Here's a paste of my game.log.txt
https://pastebin.com/zjX92Z7D

My PC has these specs:
Intel i7 9700k
32GB RAM
NVidia Geforce 2700 Super
2 x Samsung 970 NVMe SSD

I own an Oculus Quest 2 but play the game without it 99% of the time. My issue occurs while not playing in VR mode. I'm not using any mods and have never installed any.

I tried switching the game version to the live main build but that caused my game to CTD any time I tried to load an autosave. I then switched back to the latest Oculus beta 1.64 and that caused the interior of my cab to be completely distorted (but when I turned my head to look out the window the world rendered fine). Verifying my game cache got everything working again, including solving the Boise crash.

Just posting this for SCS in case it is helpful to them.

This is the first problem:
"00:00:00.573 : [ufs] Home directory: 'D:/OneDrive/Documents/American Truck Simulator'.
00:00:00.574 : [fs] device D:/OneDrive/Documents/American Truck Simulator mounted."

Is your computer using OneDrive, even if you did not ask it to? Windows will use OneDrive as the documents folder and ATS will not run correctly if it does so.
Stop using OneDrive:
Microsoft official instructions to remove OneDrive:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/turn-off-disable-or-uninstall-onedrive-f32a17ce-3336-40fe-9c38-6efb09f944b0
The "home" directory for the game should be the documents folder on your C: drive.

Change this line in the config (or config.cfg) file:
00:00:00.xxx : uset cf_asus_aura "1"
00:00:00.xxx : uset cf_razer_chroma "1"
Change the "1" to "0" (zero) in both lines and save it.
You can find the file in your documents in the ATS folder.

Update your GFX driver, current WHQL driver is 531.41, download ONLY form Nvidia.

"00:01:55.373 : <ERROR> There was an error while inflating (<SYSFS>../../base.scs)"
That is the main cause of the crash, the source files are corrupt and do not install correctly. This is commonly caused by Steam not correctly downloading files and error-checking them properly.
Fix this by doing this:
Verify your game files. You can do this by doing a right-click on the game in your Steam Library and going to "Properties". There you go to "Local files" and there should be the option to verify your files. This will fix any missing or corrupt game files.
As a matter of routine, it is a good idea to do a file verify after any update or patch delivered by Steam as the entire install is re-written causing it to be vulnerable to data errors.

Thanks mojo_musica!! Verifying the game cache fixed the issue so that's consistent with your interpretation.

I'm definitely not going to disable OneDrive. If there was ever an incompatibility between OneDrive and a game I would get rid of the game.

ATS is one game among several which OneDrive has an incompatibility issue.

Don't you know when you have data stored on OneDrive it gives Microsoft access to that data. Microsoft says when you click on the "I Agree" button you give them the right to examine the data and use it in any way they see fit without payment, compensation for damaged data while on the OneDrive servers, or recourse in case their usage of your data causes you legal or monetary damages.

Most people fail to read the full Usage Agreement they agree to so Microsoft claims the user does not have legal recourse. The Microsoft legal team has buried the complete user agreement across several related documents, not just the one presented to the user.

FYI, All data storage services have followed Microsoft's lead. If there is a company which gives the user full control of their data as to what is allowed I have not found it.
