Peterbilt 579 vs International Lonestar
I've been using the Peterbilt 579 since day one and was thinking the Lonestar might be possibly a bit better, but not really sure.

I know the braking on the lonestar isn't as good, but the visibility is and has better auto transmissions with only a slight decrease in max speed.

Just curious for those that have driven both, which one they like better between these two?

Not sure where you get that the braking isn't as good.

All the trucks brake the same for me. It is controlled by the braking sensitivity slider.

Depending on how much money you have....buy the truck. Drive it. If you don't like it hire a driver.

Well i used Lone Star before Western Star came online, works like a dream, but due long nose a bit tricky in confined space.

If want to use modern model it is good compromise, a bit better than kenW/peterB modern models...old models from those 2 is like driving a tractor, did not like a lot, even if they are power houses.

Volvo VNL tend to lose friction easier than Lone Star, so Volvo is out too.

Seems new truck is best to maneuver atm, but otherwise similar to Lone Star.

Neither. Don't care for Peterbilt because Peter Built it. And the International Lonestar is for people
people who like to be by themselves.. I deal with the Kenworth or Western Star now until they do a Cascadia Freight Shaker....

With the braking I was just going by the stats (
(https://truck-simulator.fandom.com/wiki/American_Truck_Simulator_Trucks) that has it as a lower rating for breaking so figured it might not be as good.

Western Star, I might when they add more cabs down the road, but for now, I like the extended night cabs.

Maneuverability is a big thing too, especially for confined spaces, so that might be a factor as well.

Not using mods for ATS at all (I have too much to deal with updating mods for ETS2).

I could just try and buy one on a save since only play solo and then if it sucks I can go back, but just was curious what people thought...

Oh them stats....
idk, I'm not a glorified steering wheel holder, I drive stick. And when you drive a truck for real that is stick, is all about the stick + down shifting, brakes are a option for parking...

I don't even use a wheel or stick shift. I just use a game controller (and have been since ETS2 came out). This I think is why maneuverability is more important for me.

Either way I tried it out and liked the International, but the left side mirrors weren't visible as they are in the 579. So that was my deciding factor to stick with the 579...
