I miss a sleeper cabin.
It´s a nice truck at the moment, but I hope for coming updates. Made one delivery with the truck - Western Stars from Stockton to Seattle.
Obviously, it's disappointing that it's not complete features-wise but the fact that it's already in-game and working is way better than no truck at all and waiting forever.
My main complaints are the dash display. Hard to read, especially if you have your view set way back in order to see the left mirror. Also, all the screens are very different from the ones on other trucks as far as what information is displayed. I usually have my other trucks on the Range/Fuel screen. This doesn't seem to have a screen quite the same. One is close but not quite the same information.
Also, seems weirdly underpowered. I put the 605hp Cummins and the 18spd Eaton in it. That's pretty much how I have my T680 and Lonestars set up. But it seemed terribly weak with that setup on a heavy haul job. Even small hills were making it crawl at 20mph or less.
I fully understand that the Detroit is the "default" in-house engine that it was designed around. So I really hope it's more powerful with a DD16. But with a Cummins it was really sad.
I'm guessing most people are driving it with the Detroit. Is it a lot more powerful vs. the Cummins?
Anyway, it's off to a good start and I'm happy it's in game. Looking forward to the rest of the features getting rolled out.
But they differ in the torque curve values and reach their peak at different rmp, and also should shift a bit different when used with auto. The Detroit has it's peak earlier than the ISX.
The ISX 605 seems to have a bit longer peak range compared to the 600 ( from the t680).
So in theory... well... *shrug* ;)
Maybe the 18spd Eaton is not the best choice, given the longer range of peak performance. Dunno ...
I use a 7 gear Alison (sequential) with the Detroit and it seems to me somehow like every other truck I use with that kind of setup. But I have not hauled really heavy things so far.
I guess I'll have to put a DD in it and compare. As far as I'm aware, the 7spd Allison is the "cheater" trans if you're driving bobtail but pretty much sucks for actual hauling. Is it somehow the magic combination with the DD16 for actual loads or heavy loads?
And I know, it usually is an automatic.
I wont say it sucks for hauling, at least I have no promblems with it.
It actually does some magic stuff in the lower gears. Like it is somehow shifting but it doesen't or at least I don't as I shift sequential. Don't know what exactly it is, but the rpm drops back a bit once when you accelerate in the 2nd gear i.e., so it's like 2 gears in one.
I use it because it is very convenient to drive when you shift sequential, with a powerful engine it can do it all and every gear has it's use.
Here is an intersting video that compares gearboxes:

There is also one about auto vs manual on this channel.
Sorry for going a bit off topic... /OT end
