American vs Euro 2
been a while I've got Euro 2 and im ejoying quite much, i guess its one of those games you wouldn't expect to be so nice. So, is this one an overall improvement or the same thing but taking place in america? i'm sorry if i sound vague, but whats the main differences between the two? does this one have more content , etc? I realized there's still DLC's being released for euro 2, so it doesnt seem to be an obsolete game

ETS2 has more content as it has been out longer.

ATS is exactly the same playwise and graphic wise to the DLCs in ETS2. Just takes place in America with American trucks.

I see, so overall it's a matter of preference of where you want to play and what kind of trucks you like best

Another difference is ATS tends to be a bit more relaxing to play. ETS2 has more varied enviroments, so I find it a little more interesting to drive around in, but you generally have to pay more attention to what you're doing. European roads tend to be smaller and more windey, plus they have strange intersections like roundabouts that take a little getting used to. So basically both games are cool it just depends what kind of mood you're in.

They are both very similar.
ETS2 takes place in Europe with European trucks, has more trucks amd a larger map, but is generally of lower quality than ATS as the majority of it was made using older methods and assets. ATS takes place in America with American trucks. So far, it only has 4 states which are mostly desert, but is made with much higher quality and more diversity in buildings, roads, and signs. The map of ATS is actually almost the same size as ETS2 now!
It mainly comes down to preference. I own both, but I never play ETS2 because I am not familiar with European road laws and signs (and I still have a passionate hatred for the all-white lines and placement of stop lights in Europe). I know some people in America specifically but ajd play ETS2 because they are unfamiliar with European roads and enjoy the challenge. If you are unfamiliar with American roads, ATS may be the challenge you want, or if you are familiar, it may be the welcome feeling...

Europe got to deal with little Fiats drivers angry at Lambogini drivers.

A Fiat vs. Lamborghini issue? America has a bit of a Dodge Ram vs. Chevy Silverado vs. Ford F150 pickup truck issue...
One more difference:
Sport car competition or pickup truck competition?

I guess I'll stick to the euro, I find the trucks better looking, plus I've got it already along a few dlcs... Was going buy ATS if it directly had more features like, idk, truck maintenance but since is overall more if the same, I'm happy enough.

Thanks for all the replies.

I'm sure there's a free demo available.

I think the only thing that really separates these two games gameplay-wise are trucks. The American trucks and much bigger = more fun to drive IMO.

But they have less customization than ETS2. It is all personal preference.

I have both game and both are fun but I love my decked out Scania in ETS2 still.

I would also point out the ATS has more a more realistic feel of how cities sprawl and look as comapred with ETS2. Especially in their latest states like New Mexico and Arizona.

Both are great games.

Agree with all the feedback above. That said, I have both and enjoy them both...
