Now this is an oversize load :)
Went and had a look yesterday as I was in the general area....made some of the loads we saw on 63 when I was up in the Oil Sands pale by comparison.

EDIT:

There is some better footage in this one:

lol from the understatement of the year department:
"drivers behind it are expected to face delays...The load is roughly the size of a CFL football field and will use the entire width of a two-lane highway, including the shoulder."

I actually thought you could just divert the traffic *through* it and over it :cozyteddymoo:

This one has the best footage, especially the aerial shots....and of course the redneck comments from the locals....I swear they hunt out the same people whenever there is a tornado...

The weight is in metric tonnes...for US folks that is 902 tons or just over 1.8 million pounds

Maybe there should be wind turbine loads in ATS as there is a smattering of wind farms in California. I wonder if mid Winter hauling does less damage to the Alberta highway, than if the move was done in Summer?

The highways are fine for 3 seasons (Summer, Fall, Winter) but they do have load restrictions on in the spring. This move was done now for the timing of needing it in the plant construction plan.

Copy that; I would not want to be responsible for coordinating all the truck and trailer movements on that trip!!!!!

No need for 1000 hp to haul this, just a nice big :v8a: engine in a Scania truck. :steamhappy:

World record for production trucks:

The Kenworth mining truck with 1000 hp is a tuned engine and the little Scania with "only" a 620 hp of raw :v8a: power pulls more, hehe. :steammocking:
