That's gotta be something with the game settings or your rig.
I too own a TMX but I've never had this issue before.

Try unplugging your usb, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in. Then start the game.
I have to do that sometimes.

There is a setting for that somewhere. Don't remember specifics though.

Try the Steering sensitivity and the Steering non-linearity sliders.

If you still haven't got it working - try unbinding the keyboard keys for secondary steering inputs...

If that didn't do it -
"%USERPROFILE\documents\american truck simulator\<profileID>\controls.sii"

Delete that file and go through the in-game input wizard... (you'll lose all your previous input customisations however).

I'd check first with the setup tool in windows if the computer is getting the correct information from the wheel, as is it also seeing it as completely left/right as soon as you turn the wheel, or if you are having issues in other games. If it does, recalibrating or reinstalling software could probably help, as problem seems to be coming from wheel itself, either software or hardware. If not then the issue is in ats.

I'd say sensitivity and non-linearity are a good bet, or checking your steering wasn't assigned as a single press button somewhat (no idea if its possible but worth a check imo).

Check the controls see it as a wheel + keyboard type of controls.

I just noticed this hasn't been mentioned until Verfallen's post, so I might make it a bit more obvious.

Cypher, have you got the latest Thrustmaster software and drivers installed?
https://support.thrustmaster.com/en/product/tmx-pro-force-feedback-en/

In the Drivers section make sure to read the Release Notes for the installation procedure.

I also use a steering wheel and hated also seeing the steering wheel on the screen. Why do I need to see 2 steering wheels? So I edited the .cfg file and got rid of the on-screen steering wheel. Problem solved.

His problem isn't about not wanting to see the steering wheel.
His problem is the truck's wheel does not turn at the same rate as his wheel.

I hate to ask the most simple question but have you got the drivers for the TMX installed? It could be also that you have your wheel set to a super low degrees of rotation or it could also be an in game setting with your steering linearity being set way off. I have the same wheel but I haven't had any issues with what you're describing.
