black monitor in vr

Does anyone know how to fix the black screen when playing in vr, so other ppl can watch while playing

not sure if F11 will do anything, but it is how to change in and out of vr

The game window will not display a 2d view unless you press F11 and are on the menu screen (But then it pauses theVR view). For others to watch you have to launch a mirror. For Oculus you have to go: C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusMirror. There are probably similar ways to do this for other VR hardware. You may have to have a second monitor to put the mirror on since the game has to 'be in focus' (which will put it over the mirror).

In your config file change oculus mirror from 0 to 1. It will then display 2 pics (left and right eye view)on your monitor

How do you avoid losing focus when doing this? For me it displays on top of the mirror and if I navigate to the steam vr mirror it pauses the game.

i know this is an old comment, but it doesn't work. Yes, it fixes the black screen thing kind of, but when you go back to the game in vr mode as a truck driver, the monitor stays black

You got to edit the config.cfg while the game is not running. When you end the game, the existing file will be overwritten. This definitley works, I did it several times.
