Crashes when I press escape

After playing the game for a while and then go to press escape to bring up the truck menu and stuff, the game would crash. The game never use to do this and had been doing it for a few months now. I don't know if someone else is having this same issue and I'm sure it was when it updated one time and has been doing that ever since. I thought that it was just a bug and thought that it would get fixed but nothing has changed. I have no idea what the issue is, I don't have any mods installed or anything and I feel I cant enjoy the game as much as I use to because of the crashing

You need to post your game.log.txt. right after a crash, It's located in Your Documents/ATS open the file game.log.txt. and copy it, then go pastebin.com it's free and create the paste, then copy the link to the paste and post it here, that way someone can help you.

You could try updating your gtx1050 graphics card drivers.
Looks like the old ones are from June 2018

Go to the Nvidia website
https://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-uk

and select your card, download and install the new drivers, then go back and get the GeForce Experience program and install that, it will keep your graphics card and drivers up to date and help set the best graphics settings for many games.

Wouldn't it be easier for someone with PrincessEileen's computer knowledge to install Geforce Experience first and let it update the drivers?

I have given up trying to second-guess the abilities of users here. It is way too scary, and I have well over 20 years experience in IT!
I had my last faith in users' knowledge destroyed when a highly-qualified graduate told me she didn't know anything about computers, despite using them in school and university, as she just batted her eyelashes at the "boys" to get them to do it for her, if she got stuck.

Yep, I have little to no time for people who don't see anything wrong in posting questions about basic, common topics that they could easily find the answer themselves. If you point that out to some people, even politely, you are being rude and offensive etc. Cry me a river.

The program you told me to try seems to have worked. In fact the graphics look a bit cleaner too and have tested the game out and not yet crashed. I was nervous at first as it is completely alien and still don't understand how it works. But it works and I don't care how it works and I thank you for your help. Also I hope this solves other players problems too.

It's not really about knowing "how" it works, it's what to do when when it doesn't work. So many people here get the smallest problem and the first thing they do is uninstall the game and reinstall, sometimes repeatedly for no reason.
It's like needing an oil change for an engine but instead they just get a new engine.
