Peterbilt 389 no sound
I bought a brand new Peterbilt 389. However no engine sound on the truck. No engne, hooter, wipers sound etc. Deathly silence :(
Had the Peterbilt 389 previously with no problem at all.
I changed to another Peterbilt (579?) and sound is OK. No problem.
All background sounds, music etc. OK and seems no problem.
I verified cache and all files verify OK.
No mods installed.

Seems as if the engine I purchased, Caterpillar C15 625 King of the Hill is the problem. I installed another engine and sound is now back and OK.
Please give info

I don't know if there is some way to juggle the engine sounds. When I ordered a 389 with the 625 CAT engine it sounded like a real diesel with turbo whistle, like a real W900L video I saw.

But when I upgraded both the 600 Cummins in a W900 sleeper and 510 Pacar in W900 day cab to the 625 CAT, the sound did not change. They are both still very muffled (like a whooshing sound) with very low pitch throbbing (different from 589 or T680). Any engine in the W900 doesn't really sound like a diesel.

I guess I should try ordering a W900 with the CAT engine and see if that sounds any better than its very quiet default sound for other engines that did not change when upgrading an existing engine to the CAT.
