What is the point of External Contract jobs?
So, I think I understand the fundemental difference between the two (Freight Market are jobs in-game, External Market are Jobs you get from the World of Trucks website). What I don't understand is what benefit is there for logging into the site and looking for those jobs. From what I understand External Market has to do with some kind of multiplayer concept that's still in its infancy, but is there any benefit for a single player to look for these External Jobs? Thanks.

Right now the only reason is for competing against other drivers and for stat keeping. Otherwise, no reason.

Yes it is only for braggin rights so you may not bother with it. Else you may get caught up in a very nasty e-Fight.:steamsad:

One side benefit of external WOT jobs is that the deadline is real time, not game time. So if you need to complete a long job that would take 22-24 hours game time which might be a couple of hours real time, and you have 17 hours real time to complete it, you can take a dinner break, or a real nap or a couple of in game naps without being pressured to finish the job with barely enough time for one in game nap if you can find a rest stop at the right time.

They are working on implementing rewards and incentives through the Steam inventory system, in case you wondered why ATS now checks Steam Inventory items at start :steamhappy:

You can take a dinner break with freight market jobs too, time is frozen on those when you stop playing.

External contracts on the other hand time keeps going even when you stop playing.

WoT is used to offer small bits of DLC for free, it will be used for the inventory system as well which I expect to start up this week (for ETS2).

That is a huge con for me. Sometimes you have to stop playing for some unexpected reason and cannot play again until the next day and your job has expired by the time you can play again:tcry:

Same, Margalus. I only take External Contracts if I know I will be playing for at least a few hours uninterupted.
More jobs, more choice, that's reason enough to use them
