Maps Analogy ATS vs ETS2
Hello. Im playing ATS right now (I just started) and i know with some update back there they grow the map sizes around 75% (as they say). But i want to know: How is this compared to the maps of ETS2? are still bigger? If i have a distance of 100km in ATS I will cover it in a shorter time than ETS2, or now are the same?

Thanks for your time.

The scale of the map is the same between both games. ATS is more detailed because all of the assets are being made from scratch as they expand it.

ETS2 is bigger because they used the maps from previous games, so it had a fairly large map to start with when ETS was originally released. However, the age of the map definitely shows if you're in the UK or Germany for sure.
So, in general speaking 100km distance in ATS and ETS2 in real time, will be completed in the same time? I just make an test and i run a 167km mission in ATS and it took me 8m35s with average driving speed of 79. Also i completed 172km distance in ETS2 with A.D.S of 88 and it took me 9m41s. Ok the distance is 5km Farther but i was driving faster. So maybe in ETS2 1km distance is a little bigger than 1km in ATS
The scale of the map is identical, yes. However, the time is variable depending on where you are on the map.

The have made multiple US based truck games it should probably be quicker to developed than it currently is
Those games were when they were under the publisher of ValuSoft. Though they were decent, but SCS Software is making all of the assets from scratch in ATS, thus the old 18 WoS does not apply.
ATS scale is just minutely smaller now with the rescale. ATS is 1:20 now and ETS2 is 1:19, they are not identical, but they are very close now.

So yes, if you cover the exact same distance at the same speed you will get done slightly quicker in ATS.
