Attention All Engine Sound Guys:

We need engine sounds for this game.
Robinicus stopped his sounds due to his mod being stolen (if I heard right).
Kreichbaum is the only other one I trust for these sounds.

PLEASE get us some decent sounds!!!!

Also, need to get the REAL COMPANY MOD back.

Without these mods, the game is playable but boring.
Bring it back to life, PLEASE!

Supporting people like this is going to drive more modders away from sharing; the mods he claims as his own are the stolen work or Kriech, Rockerio and myself and is one of the reasons I pulled mine.

I think a lot of the issue is a lot of the community thinks they are entitled to mods these wonderful modders create, for free. Robinicus never had issues with anyone using his sounds as long as he was given proper credit. I completely understand why he pulled his mods. Not to mention, there were several users who weren't happy with the sounds and had to nitpick. I use the sounds and am happy with them. I've modded many of my mods dependent on them. I also have my own personal copy of them that I got with his permission as I asked on the scs forum when 1.37 came around. I think personally people need to understand also that scs is not in any way responsible for the mods. That is not heir problem.

At the end of the day We must remember that the modding commmunity is by all rights volunters and as such many mods will come and go regardless of what scs does or does not do.

But if you gonna give up and let all the people that love the work you do just hang because of a few bad apples... maybe time to get off the internet all together?

There are plenty of mods around which have been abandoned by their authors. Just check around.

He is quite within his rights to remove them if that is what he wants to do. He was generous to offer them and players got the pleasure out of them and he shouldn't be criticized for his decision to remove them if he feels he has been cheated. Yes, there are lots of players who love his mods but it only takes some bad ones to spoil things for the rest so they are the ones who deserve the backlash and not the author of the mods who didn't have to devote the time and effort into making the mods in the first place.

It is no wonder so many modders decide to give up when they are treated so shabbily by the people who they were trying to help.

There are other mods around which are extremely good so hopefully players won't treat those modders badly and have them stop offering their work as well.
