I'm not currently having any issues.

Does this happen on a certain type of load?
Nope.I have only problem on Mack its speed up so slow other then all good

try a different diff ratio
Iron Spirit Jun 2, 2020 @ 2:42am
The Mack M8 505HP engine reaches peak torque between 1150 and 1400 rpm while other 500HP engines with a similar torque rating reach peak torque between 1000 and 1400 rpm. This could be the reason why you feel the Mack is slow.

Personally I don't have a problem with it. But technically speaking the M8 505 engine is pretty garbage compared to say the more powerful and fuel efficient X15 500 engine.

I don't have problems with it, but I know of others who have had problems with speed with heavier loads and even some "normal" loads. You are not alone.

As @drufus59 wrote, differential ratio can make a big difference.

Do you use an H-shifter (or even sequential)? If so, I will shamelessly promote my own mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2080494024

If you drive an automatic: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2089408841
i downloads engine+transmission mod but its still slow....940hp+21 gearbox diff ratio 1.28 still slow

Just gotta say "oh well" I guess, as nobody else seems to be bothered :lunar2019smilingpig:

the mack is significantly underpowered - even with the 505 engine and the 18 speed high end ♥♥♥♥♥♥ - i can pull 140,000 lbs with a 435 volvo easier than i can with a 505 mack - whats funny is the same company makes both trucks IRL

the macks are known for special duty chassis - heavier chassis and stronger - pull and torque rates compared to the volvos which are your road and freight trucks. its no surprise that with the 505 mack and pulling 140,000 lbs that im dropping to 34 mph going up hill down to gear 12 or 13 but in all reality - it should be

if anything maybe the volvos and peterbuilts are overpowered?

@ Tater Snaps - It is really interesting you and a couple of others are finding this, but the fact is the Mack MP8 engines are the highest powered vanilla engines per HP in game.. The 445hp mp8 even out powers the the Cummings isx15 550.

ive got a £2000 gaming pc i built myself dont run no mods never have a problem with game or dlc

Nobody drives a Mack Truck for speed or acceleration. Mack trucks are for one thing only.... to get even the heaviest jobs done. Their chassis are specially built to handle ridiculous loads. The result of their design is that they will never be fast, but they will always be able to move an oversized load.

i am pretty sure there is a difference there

I agree with Cpt Neb - the Mack is a purpose built truck - heavier everything

the transmission sets are essentially identical considering they both come from the same manufacturing source. (volvo / mack) but I am just surprised that the mack is outperformed by the lessor volvo motors so greatly -

ignore the top 2 motors from mack and ignore that entire page of volvo motors - drop to a C15 and the c15 with 75 less HP will outpull the mack - i think the lower end volvo motors maybe overpowered - which is what i probably shoulda stated earlier.

big difference between 600hp and 505 hp and it would be expected that it should perform better with 194,000 lbs

and capt Neb is correct again when he says the way things are driven make a diff
